The United States has been in NATO since its founding at the end of World War II and we have been its biggest contributor since then. The United States should remain in NATO, but several things have to change. The first thing that needs to happen is an all countries in NATO must increase their contributions, by increasing their military and or their military industrial complex to provide arms and equipment either for their own military or to help Is the United States in its role. The second thing that must happen is we must change the mission of NATO, NATO was originally founded to be an alliance to combat the Soviet Union, but the Soviet union has gone, and the Russian Federation is what is current today. Some people, especially critics of NATO, claim that part of the reason Russia invade, Ukraine, was because of hostility or belief of hostility against Russia from NATO. we must make it clear to Russia that NATO is not an anti-Russia alliance And, as lunatic as it sounds, we must offer Russia membership into. Russia will always be a different country than Western countries with its own unique culture and its own way of doing things at home, we must not ask Russia to Change its ways, we must ask it to hostilities. If we Offer NATO membership to Russia, and ask nothing of it to change its culture, but only to be friendly towards the United States, We could end hostilities in that area and tension between Russian other nations, and we we could even gain a valuable ally in the next war the United States fights in with its next adversary.
