Top Agreement

I feel as if we shouldn't Help Mexico if they do not wish for our help as it would be wrong to force help on another country that might be able to handle it on their own.

 @B8X8VVPNatural Law  from Michigan  disagreed…6mos6MO

I agree, we shouldn't meddle with dangerous entities in other countries if we don't want to get into trouble ourselves. Declaring a drug war on the cartel would cause a lot of trouble in our own country.

 @B8XVMTK from Wisconsin  disagreed…6mos6MO

I personally think we should offer our help and offer our resources to assist but if they refuse then we can respect that but when they come back we can still help them

 @B8YPGL5  from Michigan  disagreed…6mos6MO

I agree with your stance, but not your reasoning. The drug cartels are something that involve us also, but to fight them is a huge risk for our nation.

 @B8X7XYX from California  disagreed…6mos6MO

Even if mexico doesnt want U.S. help, the effcts of cartel violence dont stop at the border, they directly impact americans through drug trafficking, fent deaths, and illegal firearms .

 @B8RD4Y5  from Georgia  agreed…7mos7MO

The number of deaths relating to fentanyl and other synthetic opiods has increased 23 times over since 2013.

 @B8SJMPGDemocrat from Texas  disagreed…7mos7MO

I feel like we should focus more on securing the border then using military action by invading the Mexican territory.

 @B8S6M5C from Utah  disagreed…7mos7MO

Yes but instead of destroying ships they should be having police patrol and check ships To make sure they don't have anything bad

 @BBPZL2SDemocrat  from Texas  agreed…4mos4MO

If we work with Mexico's government, it would be easier to come to agreements on what should be done about the drug cartel crisis.

 @BBV5FZRDemocrat from California  agreed…4mos4MO

I believe that it would help reduce the dangers that the cartels have brought upon both nations. There is no reason why any goverment would want to keep crime the same. They should aim for reduction.

 @BBTY4GH from Washington  disagreed…4mos4MO

The drug cartels in Mexico are bigger than most think, if the government tries to get in the way of them there will be a huge loss of lives and lots of violence will break loose.

 @B9P5WY2No Labels  from California  agreed…5mos5MO

We should unless we have coordinated an actual plan with the Mexican Government and when we are given permission to actual arrest legitimate Cartel Leader that are running the Big Cartels like the Sinaloa Cartel and Jalisco Nueva Generacion and make Mexico a much safer country.

 @hammm12  from Michigan  agreed…6mos6MO

It is not our place to step in and play the hero to a country that has not expressed the want for help. There are many drug related problems in the U.S. that have not been solved yet and do not have anything to do with Mexico. If Mexico asks for aid, then the U.S. should aid them. However, as of now, it is wiser to stay out of problems that we aren't asked to engage with.

 @B92SRWK from Texas  agreed…6mos6MO

I definitely agree with the statement. The state of America are not united, and they are several problems that we need to address before concerning ourselves with another countries’s issues.

 @B92PKB4 from Oregon  disagreed…6mos6MO

Wouldn't stopping them prevent more drugs from coming into the country and make the need for a wall unnecessary?

 @BCSN8BB from North Carolina  agreed…2mos2MO

Coordinating actions against Mexican drug cartels with the Mexican government is a strategic imperative because unilateral U.S. action risks destabilizing the region and failing to reduce the flow of drugs, while coordination leverages necessary intelligence and legal frameworks.

 @BC9B2KK from North Carolina  agreed…3mos3MO

If we want to do something in Mexico, we should let authorities know, and work together to help them. Because Mexico, is not the U.S, so doing something in their country without informing them is unethical.

 @B8TQ756No Labels from Kansas  agreed…7mos7MO

How can we say we are the best country ever if we can't let immigrants who move in be free here in America, even though we are supposed to be a free country for all.

 @BD25XG3 from Alabama  agreed…2mos2MO

All cartels terrorize the country of mexico--the country they themselves reside in. No one is able to stop them (within the country); it could be possible for military of other country to step in and take care of it--but that risks those who are still activly seeking residency (no willingness) in Mexico, tourists, and if fail--the military whom helped could be a target for what's left of the cartel.

 @BCTZNJZ from Georgia  agreed…2mos2MO

Because it can be unpredictable and extremely dangerous if we don't take into consideration that our actions have consequences, whether they are negative or positive, or neither.

 @BCSHQXM from New York  agreed…2mos2MO

Working with the Mexican government could allow us to better handle the problem of the cartel on both sides of the border.

 @BC5QFVLSocialist from North Carolina  agreed…3mos3MO

Mexican Cartels bring fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin, and other illicit substances over the borders which hurt American citizens. And Mexico's intelligence would better assist our ability to mobilize against the cartels.

 @BC3GW3S from North Carolina  agreed…3mos3MO

We can do better at eliminating the drug cartels if we have help from people who know the area, and we won't be invading Mexico because we are now helping them.

 @BBZ75W5 from Ohio  agreed…3mos3MO

We should let Mexico handle it considering it is their problem and it would be wrong to force them to do something they can handle on their own.

 @BBMD9NL from Wisconsin  agreed…4mos4MO

Again I think that the cartels need to be gone forever. They've killed many innocent victims and are pretty much considered a terrorist group at this point.

 @BBDYW4S from Mississippi  agreed…4mos4MO

Pancho Villa once raided and robbed trains and people on American soil. We sent General Pershing to cross into Mexico and bring Villa to justice. Villa was never caught, but his bandidos were and they were brought to justice. This is an example of how these incidents should be handled.

 @BBD5TSTPeace and Freedom from Missouri  agreed…4mos4MO

If the Mexican government is not coordinated with us they might mistake us trying to harm them and not just the cartel.

 @BBC8YBJ from California  agreed…4mos4MO

I believe that it will be best if Mexico contribute with us to stop the Mexican Drug Cartels for there could be an alliance.

 @BBC2XKZGreen from Texas  agreed…4mos4MO

Whatever little of the government that isn't under the thumb of the cartel should be consulted instead of us waiting for them to ask for help, there is an obvious incentive not to go against them, but if we provide protection and the muscle to actually drive them out. Some people may say it isn't our business but the Cartel is an objectively bad thing and effects people terribly and strips them of any opportunities or freedom, and since we are intertwined culturally and socially, it also effects US citizens directly, although the main concern should be peoples well being in general.

 @BB2SJMP from Texas  agreed…4mos4MO

If the US were to hypothetically intervene in affairs occurring on foreign land, we would be moving forward blindly to expunge the cartels, essentially endangering ourselves as well. Coordination with Mexico's government could allow us to retrieve more forces and gather intel on location of the drug cartels.

 @B9Y5M79 from California  agreed…5mos5MO

If we see that Mexican Drug Cartels are getting more hostile, then we should obviously help out, but ONLY with the permission of Mexico because we don't want to anger them and then argue with them about what she could and could've done.

 @B9WGCNDAmerica from Ohio  agreed…5mos5MO

Mexican Drug Cartels are bad and can hurt peoples feelings so we should get rid of them so people can be happy and not worry about other bad things.

 @B9VR9Q5from Maine  agreed…5mos5MO

It's a problem that affects both our countries. It's significant that we work together to ensure we can tackle this problem in the best possible way. That way we can ensure the safety and prosperity of both our nations.

 @B9RQNX7 from Utah  agreed…5mos5MO

A good amount of drugs that are in the US come from Mexico, we need to limit that even if it means bringing troops and whatnot into Mexico

 @B9RNY5RGreen from Utah  agreed…5mos5MO

I feel like we can't just kill as many people we want from a different country for breaking our law.

 @B9Q3TMJ from California  agreed…5mos5MO

It is reasonable to assume that only if our help was agreed to be provided that we could assist in a cleansing of the cartels, assuming we would be taken in good faith and on our word.

 @B9NCV9F from Maryland  agreed…5mos5MO

The U.S. can't just control the people in Mexico, only if the Mexican government says they can do soo.

 @B9MYQSS from West Virginia  agreed…5mos5MO

The country of Mexico knows more about their own people than a foreign military superpower, but they are militarily unequipped in this moment to fight against the cartels on their own.

 @B9MG3H2 from South Carolina  agreed…5mos5MO

Drug Cartels are highly organized and look like civilians. There would need to be a massive crackdown on them, so we'd want as much information as possible.

 @B9KFRTM from Illinois  agreed…5mos5MO

If Mexico wants us to make a plan with the US, then we should take action to help them, but if not, then we shouldn't force our ways upon them.

 @B9K5XXLNo Labels from Illinois  agreed…5mos5MO

The U.S. must stop these drug cartels to protect its citizens and their country but we must also keep Mexico’s interests in mind as they are our ally and are crucial in defeating these cartels.

 @B9FYVP5 from Illinois  agreed…5mos5MO

We should unless we have coordinated an actual plan with the Mexican Government and when we are given permission to actual arrest legitimate Cartel Leader that are running the Big Cartels like the Sinaloa Cartel and Jalisco Nueva Generacion and make Mexico a much safer country.

 @B94DXCL from Virginia  agreed…6mos6MO

Mexico is ridden with drug cartel’s. Their control on cartels is scattered and overwhelmed. Stepping in to help will strengthen international ties and help Mexico regain control.

 @BC572WH from Minnesota  agreed…3mos3MO

The Mexican government needs to give the U.S a green light to enter their territory. the U.S shouldn't just be able to go onto other countries soil with military force to do something about things that only happen from bad border patrol.

 @BBDDKJC from Texas  agreed…4mos4MO

I think with the help of Mexico drug cartels could be significantly lowered and potentially help increase relations with Mexico

 @B9ZNRX6 from Texas  agreed…4mos4MO

We have had a lot of success lowering the drug trafficking rates after we working with Mexico to increase military presence along the border.

 @B9MZK42 from Michigan  agreed…5mos5MO

It’s unfair to go into a country and fix a problem that isn’t a pressing issue for us without their governments cooperations.

 @B9FXKXH from New York  agreed…5mos5MO

America has a drug problem, and cartels are growing powerful to the point where a military intervention, mexico or no, would have to step in

 @B7V7SJN from Louisiana  agreed…8mos8MO

If the national government of Mexico is involved with stopping drug cartels and provides support, it not only could help American citizens but also Mexican citizens harmed by drug cartel's activities.

 @BB5FKHP from Illinois  agreed…4mos4MO

The U.S. has to make sure we have permission from Mexico to go into their country and not hurt anyone. We can't go into another country without notifying them.

 @BB3WZXX from Arizona  agreed…4mos4MO

If we want to help deal with the drug cartel, then we need to coordinate with Mexico's government. We do not automatically know who is in the cartel and who isn't. We need people on the inside; there needs to be cooperation if we wish to make an impact.

 @9T6VJLDfrom Guam  disagreed…2yrs2Y

The us has a history of negatively impacting the countries they become militarily involved with, working with the government makes no difference if the government is seething with corruption. The existence of cartels in Mexico is a far deeper problem that goes beyond an internal defense crisis.

 @9T5Q4NR from Illinois  disagreed…2yrs2Y

If the United States does something to the wrong group of people, there could be American casualties because the government can't protect everyone all the time.

 @9SW6YJWLibertarian from Texas  disagreed…2yrs2Y

Mexico’s government is corrupt and in the pockets of the cartels and can not be trusted to effectively deal with the cartels.
