Not every women chooses to have sex. Thousands, probably more, have been sexually assaulted by men and left with a pregnancy they don't want. So, in the logic of: "if you don't want a baby, then don't have sex", if you are against abortion, don't impregnate people that don't want to be impregnated. Onto the baby in the stroller argument. A baby in a stroller is WILDLY different then a fetus in the womb. The baby in the stroller has life, a growing conscience, and emotions. The fetus in the womb does not. Onto the baby in the stroller argument. A baby in a stroller is WILDLY different then a fetus in the womb. The baby in the stroller has life, a growing conscience, and emotions. The fetus in the womb does not. It is a group of cells at most, none of which have a conscience or emotions. Cells die constantly. So, if you don't want to kill the group of cells you are claiming to be a whole baby, then you shouldn't clean yourself. Showers, brushing teeth, washing hands, etc. all kill cells. You can argue that those are two different things, but then again, you said a baby in the womb is the same as a baby in the stroller

Biology has literally told us that life starts at the moment of conception so when the sperm fertilized the egg, a new human being is formed and should be protected as for your argument on conscience and emotions what about pre natal babies? should they also be terminated? I mean technically it wasn't supposed to be on its own yet so why not end the suffering? because in true reality we know that taking another human beings life without their consent/choice is wrong. As for your whole arguement of cells on your body, given the same time as a child or not it will die out on its own regard…  Read more

Sometimes people don't get a choice if they had sex in the first place. Espesially if that someone is a kid, a kid's body can' handle the mental and physical trauma from birth.

 @B7MKBVFPeace and Freedom from Illinois  disagreed…9mos9MO

I dont think thats how it works, yes some people are unprotected and if you dont want a baby definetliy be careful but there is instinsaces were sex is forced.

 @B7C9L6P from California  disagreed…9mos9MO

If it's the first 3 months, the "baby" would be just a fetus. Fetuses are not conscious, nor should it be anyone's business if the person decides to take the pregnancy off if it happens to be accidental or a result of rape.

 @B7C89MZ from California  disagreed…9mos9MO

Think about your own young daughter getting raped, would you want her to continue to have that child? There are many positions where a woman can be impregnated against her will or in a regretful way, I feel it's their own personal body, they choose what happens to them.

 @B7C8HTG from South Carolina  disagreed…9mos9MO

Abortions aren’t always the result of a “poor choice” and the time spent arguing over whether the reason matters completely ignores the wishes of the woman whose body people are trying to control. Rape happens, defects happen, lifestyle status change happens, it’s not just poor decisions.

 @B7C6PZG from California  disagreed…9mos9MO

I understand, but in most situations, no one is just having sex FREELY with the idea in their head that they want a kid. Some people genuinely plan for when they want to get pregnant and have a baby. In other cases, some people are either raped, molested, etc. No one should be forced to have a baby if they don't want too.

 @B7CB7QB from California  disagreed…9mos9MO

There are many people thats have been raped or forced into into sex without their consent, if they don't want the kid and believe that they cant take care of them properly then they shouldn’t have the baby. It better to bring a child into the world that will having loving parents than be uncared for.

 @B7C6DN8 from Illinois  disagreed…9mos9MO

Unfortunately often times its not the woman's choice to have sex. pregnancies caused by rape are not up to the would be mother and if she doesn't want the child, cant care for the child, or is herself a child, she should not under any circumstance be forced to carry through and give birth to her rapists baby.

 @B7C7CMJ from California  disagreed…9mos9MO

In certain situations, people do not have sex on purpose sometimes. Some people don't ask to be raped and pregnant, so why should they have to suffer and carry the baby of a rapist? Yes, maybe the baby shouldn't die, but so people are not ready for that life so is their well-being more important than the life of a baby? If a 5-year-old girl got raped, would you tell her she should keep it? That is a child about to have another child. How does that sound?

@B7BVN7Y  from Texas  requested a reference…9mos9MO

Please provide a reference for:

Where did you get the conclussion that, a 5-year-old girl can even get pregnant?

 @B7C9KWTDemocrat from Arizona  disagreed…9mos9MO

Abortion is absolutely needed for certain cases, not all pregnancies are planned or sustainable. There are so many disgusting cases of crimes that happen in our world where pregnancy is the after-effect, so why would we require the carrying of a life that will be led with nothing but misery and grief. That is no condition to bring life, and it wouldn't be living in the first place. Abortion occurs way before certain developments, and as far as we know is completely painless. We shouldn't shrug off abortion, it is a horrible thing to have to go through, but sometimes it's absolutely necessary.

 @B7BG74B from Iowa  disagreed…9mos9MO

What about rape, especially of a minor? Should the minor, or even anyone who goes through that, have to go through what they didn't ask for? No, they shouldn't have to have a baby and be reminded of it all the time, and there are such things as adoption and things like that, but they still have to be reminded of that rape throughout their whole time of pregnancy. Also, the so-called "baby" isn't actually viable until 24 weeks into the pregnancy. On the other hand, if the parent was having sex and wasn't using any form of protection to prevent getting pregnant, then they shouldn't be able to have an abortion. Also, there should be a time frame for having an abortion, depending on how far along you are.

 @B7C9964 from Colorado  disagreed…9mos9MO

Its not a baby, it is a clump of cells. It is not conscious, and is completley acceptable to terminate. It is not always used as a form of birth control, and sometimes nessasary for the mothers survival. Save the tree, not the fruit.

 @B7CQV4Q from North Carolina  disagreed…9mos9MO

Some people are assaulted and do not have the choice. There are also many situations that are dangerous during pregnancy that cannot be accounted for even if the person wants to get pregnant.

 @B7CC95V from Wisconsin  disagreed…9mos9MO

what if the baby was caused during sexual assault? rape? what if you cannot afford to keep the baby? what if you have health issues that could have you die in order to have a baby?

 @B7C7GLF from South Carolina  disagreed…9mos9MO

People can get pregnant by rape and sometimes they accidentally get pregnant and do not have to financial ability to care for the child or is not mentally mature enough to handle one. A fetus is what is in the womb and for the average abortion limit the fetus is a clump of cells the size of small fruit or other small items. Also, most people who have abortions after the abortion time limit is for medical emergencies for the mother. The mothers health should be more prioritized than a fetus which isn't living yet.

 @B7CBTDQ from North Dakota  disagreed…9mos9MO

The baby is not a baby yet, it's a small clump of cells. Rape and incest also happen and are unfortunately unavoidable. Teens are also not developed enough to restrict themselves, so definitely not ready for a baby.

 @B7C9C66 from Missouri  disagreed…9mos9MO

A baby is reliable onto its host and or mother, a fully developed child is severely different from a fetus and or underdeveloped child. In cases of rape are incest the mother should have a right to terminate her child before the 6-12 weeks provided by most states.

 @B7C97WGDemocrat  from West Virginia  disagreed…9mos9MO

It's not that easy. People are going to have sex regardless of that. I could agree with your statement about "just dont have sex" but people STILL will. There will be instances of that happening. Think about their money situation, can the parents afford to HAVE a baby? And what if there's complications? Can they afford the medical bills? Or what about genetics? Plenty of people don't have children BECAUSE of how awful their genetics are. Thats' expensive. There's a lot of people who were born into awful situations, think about that. Do you know how many instances there are of MEN lying to women about using protection a lot of men baby trap women. MY BODY, my choice.

 @B7C9KHLWomen’s Equality from Kansas  disagreed…9mos9MO

Some people don't have the funds to have a child. Saying "don't have sex" is ridiculous, because i'm sure you have it for reasons other than having a baby. It's a woman's body, she should choose.

 @B7C6XLL from Illinois  disagreed…9mos9MO

while inside the womb it is a fetus. It does not have brain function, feelings, or really any sense of self. it also isn't always the conscious discussion to have sex that gets someone pregnant. Many people get pregnant from rape. There is also the fact that not all pregnancies are healthy. Ectopic pregnancies for one are when the fetus materializes outside the womb and can cause a multitude of problems including death for the mother.

 @B7CCRP7 from Texas  disagreed…9mos9MO

There is people who get raped... and this isnt by their choice, therefore abortion gives the person a choice, because this can cause the person mental issues because its a reminder of what happened, and also they could die from giving birth a to a baby who isnt even wanted. Also when they do the abortions, they are cells, they really havent deveopled.

 @B7C69JM from Oregon  disagreed…9mos9MO

A fetus is not able to live independently outside of the womb, therefore it is different than a baby. Also, rape and sex trafficking exists, some people are assaulted or forced to carry children against their will.

 @B7C8WSR from California  disagreed…9mos9MO

Sex is a thing humans have been and will continue to do for the entirety of our existence. If you are going to have sex, do it safely and prevent pregnancy and the spread of STDS at the same time. In the case of a baby in a stroller compared to the womb, it has not actively achieved life; it has not met all the criteria if you want to fight and say that its life and we are killing it, start by banning euthanasia of animals or hunting, then come back and talk about this.

 @B7C96QP from Texas  disagreed…9mos9MO

Sometimes a mother is raped and then becomes pregnant against her will. Sometimes, it's a little kid who gets raped and is then forced to carry a baby.

 @B7CB3X7 from Montana  disagreed…9mos9MO

Okay, so then don't have sex... Why does it matter what you think? Quit worrying about what other people have going on. Easy fix.

 @B7CC73X from Florida  disagreed…9mos9MO

For some people it is not that easy. You conveniently leave out the part when women are violated. What about them? Why do you default to blaming the mother? And you make the assumption that fetuses are people. They are not. They have not even experienced life yet. Ignoring the scientific part.
Here is what I think: Pro-lifers do not care about children. Think of all the children in foster care. These children are abused. Not a peep about them from you people. But you would rather risk a woman’s life, a person, someone who has loved ones and dreams and aspirations, to the idea of a pers…  Read more

I agree. It is the unjustified end of a human life. If you dont want a baby dont do the baby making action.

 @B7CBB7T from Utah  agreed…9mos9MO

I agree. Dont pushish the baby for a mistake. But i also undedstand sexual harassment and not being able to afford living expenses. However, the baby shouldn't be punished.

 @B7C62D9 from Arizona  agreed…9mos9MO

I agree you did the thing and your baby to you may seem like a consequence but it will be a blessing and you don't get a right to kill it because you were stupid.

Engaged Social Issues

I would argue for the majority of the adult population, sex is a basic need for survival. Studies have proven the need for human connection as a whole and also the need for sex in relationships. There are vast physical and mental health benefits from sex, along with numerous mental health downsides to being in a sexless relationship, or in no relationship at all. Sex (more specifically reproduction) is quite literally the meaning of life after all. If you don't believe me, check in with any friend in a sexless relationship and see how they're holding up...

To rebut the statement of…  Read more

 @B7BVN7Y  from Texas  commented…9mos9MO

To keep my response short, No sex in not a need for survival you won't die without sex certain people may feel like it or may feel depression without it but in reality it is mainly the result of pornography watching for if you look at the past many people had gone most of their lives without sex or need of it it is the modern society that has corrupted the population to normalize sex without commitment causing those whiplashes of needing sex but in reality its not a basic human nessesity to live a normal life.

 @B7C9GSM from Missouri  agreed…9mos9MO

I strongly agree with this the baby deserves to live and the mom does not have to do that, she knew what could happen and it is not the baby's fault

 @B7C9GKB from California  agreed…9mos9MO

I agree with this statement. However, if the mother is a rape victim or some other exception, they should have the right to decide on keeping it or not.

 @B7CGNGB from South Carolina  agreed…9mos9MO

I do not believe in abortions at all. I feel if you take the risk its on you. I understand about when people are sexually assaulted but I feel that it could still be a blessing in a way.

 @B7C83ZD from Michigan  agreed…9mos9MO

abortion should not be aloud because their still a human. I believe that all human life is sacred and should be protected, regardless of stage of development.

 @B7C7ZRG from Michigan  agreed…9mos9MO

I agree with this!! A baby is a human being with potential, and why isn't abortion considered murder. Murder should never be normalized. Everybody was created in God's image and was created for a purpose.

 @B7C6HTN from California  agreed…9mos9MO

I agree that abortion is wrong, but people can choose to have sex just for pleasure, and not think of what could come after, which is obviously ending up pregnant. The mother would be either immature and doesn't know what her actions could do, or could actually want a baby to raise.

 @B7C74CJ from California  agreed…9mos9MO

I agree with this so much, cause everyone nowadays prioritizes casual relationships instead of long term partnerships and this causes a significant amount of people to have sex with no intention of raising a baby. A life shouldn't be taken away because someone couldn't close their damn legs.

 @B7C8KYMDemocrat from California  disagreed…9mos9MO

You can't put a law saying not to have sex unless you're trying to start a family. People are going to do it anyway. Birth control can fail, and it's not always planned to have a baby, especially with younger people. People can be unprepared for a child and won't be able to give it a life while also trying to maintain their own.

 @B7CBFF8 from Arizona  disagreed…9mos9MO

Some people do not have a choice on whether they have sex or not. Victims of rape are just as important as the majority when discussing options of pregnancy. While a child killed in a stroller is gruesome and horrible abortion is different because it is comparable to someone breaking your car's windshield, and you breaking your car's windshield. It is also in a completely different stage of development, which is not the same as a toddler.

 @B7C9WWN from Arizona  disagreed…9mos9MO

The children being born into low income families will suffer or have the chance if having a poor foster experience.

 @B7C5TG2  from New York  disagreed…9mos9MO

sometimes people cannot have a baby without dying in the procese or if their baby could have issues later in life or come out still born so it is necaccarry to have abotions for this reason
