No, this is a breach of privacy and can damage trust with the child, unless the child has a 504 plan.

A parent shouldn't be able to completely dictate the information the child receives, but the child should also be getting an unbiased, purely informative education by the state.

I think information should be released generalized and should have the option to get more information over teaching materialso they are wll imformed too but it should have limits as children and stuents should not be shelded from real world crisis

Accessing records and teaching materials is fine, the part about control over the child is too vague.

 @B84HYF3 from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but parental control should not extend beyond their child and limitations should be placed on situations involving abuse

I believe student parents should be in control of most except of the upbringing, education and values of the discipline of their children.

 @B86QNVQ from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Some seem extreme, while others seem fair. It needs to be more balanced.

 @B86LMTF from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

They have the right to do that, but they shouldn't change the whole law or school regulations just because they disagree what the school is teaching their child.

 @B86KP32  from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but only for primary guardians and ban parents and family members with active restrictions on visitation from accessing child records without express consent

 @B86CRRWDemocrat from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

In between, I think it depends on the parents most have good things to say about the education and teach us about the world. But also not all the time because most parents are not educated and also bad influence.

No, I don't agree with the controlling language in the last part but do believe that parents should have the right to access things listed in the first part.

 @B82MRM5Independent from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

A parent has the right to know what they are being taught, but shouldn't be able to control what is taught unless voted upon mass majority and multiple states.

 @B82JHDX from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Yes and no, I am very much in the middle in this stance. Parents should be able to know what their children are learning in school, but there are certain things that students are not comfortable coming to their parents about like they are teachers.

 @B826GD4 from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, Parents have a right to know what is being taught to their children and how they are being developed by the education system

 @B7ZTJ8P from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

I would say yes but majority of the time we see monstrous people just terrorizing those around as a result of their parents beliefs and the way they are raised. As one has said we are all born pure, it is those around us that shape us, parents especially religious ones are usually the ones to inflict such pain on their children and in multiple cases the kids become mentally insane.

 @B82GNH7Green from Texas  answered…8mos8MO

Yes, but only to the extent that it concerns the child's academic performance and physical/mental health with due consideration for the safety of the child.

Yes, only if they are under the age of 18 and they are their legal guardian.
