People need to stop living like they are a victim and trying to experience a past event that never happened in their lives and never opressed them. We live in America, where all of us, regardless of race, can do whatever we want if we work hard and put our mind to it, and your skin color is not a factor in how well you do. You need to stop pulling the victim card.

I believe that nobody is inherently racist, and to tell a white person that they were born racist is a racist accusation. You can not put a label on an entire ethnic group. People are people.

This theory is racist in itself by saying all people of a certain color is this or that but yes we are all born as equal people no matter the color of our skin.

I completely agree with this statement. We should live in a society that doesn't differentiate by the color of your skin. The more we talk about race as an issue, the more it gets planted into the minds of people that we are different and that creates division. We are all humans, let's treat each other as such and not differentiate because of how we look.

No, racism already pass. Sure there is still racism today, yet that is solved through being “canceled” (although that term is more likely used to people’s benefit). It is the same media and same society that puts kids in their mind on any race that, “I was a victim,” or “this country is a horrible place because of the past.” In doing so you are teaching the kids to be divided instead of being united. Equality already is a thing and slaver already got abolished. This will give the “so call victims” to have an excuse to act mean to the other…  Read more

There are things that happen to all of us outside our control but it is still our responsibility to carry, and not burden others with the weight. People of all races have it incredibly easy here, everyone deserves a fair (not equitable) chance.

I absolutely agree with your reasoning. Creating us vs. them mentality today based on historical injustices is the last thing schools should be trying to do with their students.

This is correct, the Critical race theory teaches young white kids that no matter what they do, they will always be the bad guy in this story.

 @B857JYVDemocrat from Ohio  disagreed…8mos8MO

I feel like if kids are educated about racism at a young age it can be prevented better in the future. Education is the best way to change something.

 @B84FNB9 from Ohio  disagreed…8mos8MO

Critical race teaches racism as if all whites are born racist and all blacks are born oppressed kids are not born either of these they are born as people but not all white's are not racist because I know a lot of white men who have black friends or black wife's or girlfriends.

 @B848R6G from North Carolina  disagreed…8mos8MO

But it is important to teach kids history and even worse to not teach the bad history america had and forget all the misery but not so early.

 @B82MWZS from Texas  disagreed…8mos8MO

Critical Race Theory teaches children that racism and other things is taught by their environment, not that it is predetermined just by the color of their skin.

 @B82GSK5 from Texas  disagreed…8mos8MO

I believe that people should be born as people, however critical race theory should be taught in school as it is true

 @B8234BK from Arkansas  disagreed…8mos8MO

The framework, when implemented appropriately, is essential for understanding historical and current inequalities and that many objections mischaracterize or oversimplify CRT.

 @B7ZJF7VCommunist  from Florida  disagreed…8mos8MO

Critical race theory does not teach white kids they are racist, rather that they exist atop a social hierarchy that must be deconstructed. It does teach black kids that they are born oppressed because unfortunately in this country they are. It is a system that we need to be aware of and sympathetic to. I would love to agree with this take and say we don’t need to teach critical race theory because the ideas of it are no longer applicable but unfortunately they are.

 @B7ZDCCC from North Carolina  disagreed…8mos8MO

CRT isn't about pinning blame. It is simply our history. It's not pretty but it is what it is. We can't change it. I know I don't feel guilty for what white people did in the past. I wasn't there it wasn't me. I think it's more of how it's taught then what is taught.
