I agree with this, but there is no need for the interview. They can run a background check and that is all that needs to happen.

Yes, I agree. people carry guns for protection, which is needed because of the generation we are in. But I do feel as if parents shouldn't teach their children how to use a gun until they are above age and able to have the right mindset. But I do feel like 18 years old is too young to be able to purchase a firearm. 25 years old should be the age where people should be able to purchase guns and 18 years old is the age you start having practice for using them for when you are old enough to get one. The government and president should create a program where 18 year olds learn how to use guns and have that go on into they're 25 years old.

I agree, I don’t think taking away guns is a good response for gun violence but I do think much stricter enforcement needs to happen with them because they are very dangerous weapons that do kill and can easily fall into the wrong hands. I think that more intense background testing needs to happen, and a in depth test and if that person shows even a single sign that they are not capable of being safe with a weapon and using it properly and the way it is intended to be used then they should not be allowed to get one for atleast a few years and then be eligibility for retesting unless they demonstrate very concerning behaviors then they should have that privilege revoked entirely.

As much as I agree with this comment about Gun Control, abolishing gun ownership would reduce gun violence significantly. The 2nd amendment argued for the right to bear arms for militias. In an age where militias do not exist in the United States, there is no need for the right to bear arms. Personal security would be compromised, but it is necessary to compromise for a greater public good- the reduction of gun violence towards compromised communities.

A background check, an interview, and an intention test are good ways to regulate gun ownership without stripping the right to own firearms as a whole, but I would also add the idea of a gun ownership license with "levels" much like those for automobiles, allowing different people different clearances for different classes of firearm based on their license, so that different people can acquire different firearms according to their needs (hunting, home defense, commercial/private security, etc.).
