I agree with this as a student soon to be in college prices are astronomical for starting job wages.

Yes, I agree that minimum wage is too low, and that it has led to many struggling to afford housing. I feel this way because the cost of living, rent, and median prices for homes continue to rise, while the minimum wage stays the same and doesn't account for such factors.

Agree. Renting used to be a temporary, viable alternative to home ownership, providing affordable housing while allowing for the accruement of savings towards a down payment. The cost of home ownership is now astronomical, making the down payment necessary to allow for a reasonable monthly payment enormous, and rent has likewise become so expensive that savings towards a path to home ownership is no longer possible, even for people with what would have been considered a good wage 10 years ago. Short of receiving a financial windfall, the only way to realistically save up for the down payment on a home to day is to avoid the financial treadmill of renting and continue living at home (where parents may still charge rent). Income simply has not remotely kept up with inflation, the cost of living, and the housing bubble.

I agree. It's hard to live a good, stable life after college if you're not with someone or you paid for your college loans. The government should set up a better future world and not one for homelessness.

Inflation keeps rising, but the minimum wage has nearly stayed the same. Two and two go together, so people can survive and exist in the economy. People aren't able to purchase homes, go to college, or move out of their parents houses because they aren't making enough to save.

I agree with this topic since prices of everything have gone up, therefore making living independently that much more challenging.

 @B9H79P3Socialist from North Carolina  agreed…5mos5MO

I completely agree. Housing costs are rising so much that people can't afford homes anymore. Personally, I don't have much hope of ever buying and owning a home.

 @B9B4KZ3 from California  agreed…6mos6MO

People can barely afford housing and it is becoming more common for people to stay with their parents for years after turning 18.

 @B9C2ZNW from Texas  agreed…6mos6MO

I believe that the minimum wage should go up if the parents are expecting them to leave after they turn 18

 @B99PC9NNo Labels from Nebraska  agreed…6mos6MO

agree, people are getting more lazy. If you're smart with your money I think you can do anything with your money and be okay.

 @B9C9LPK from Illinois  agreed…6mos6MO

We should get paid more that 15 an hour and get paid 18 or more if the U.S wants us to pay these taxes

 @B99V88N  from California  agreed…6mos6MO

I believe if you are staying with your parents for 2 years after Turing 18 that is OK that gives you time to save money go get a part time job if you are struggling its not others faults its yours. live in your means not out of it.

 @B9CZQSPRepublican  from California  disagreed…6mos6MO

Those people are choosing not to do what makes the money. Anyone can walk into a military recruiting office, or start a business that society will support.

 @B9F5M6MLibertarian from Ohio  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree with this comment. Minimum wage should be increased for workers so people can move out and afford affordable housing for themselves.
