I agree that they should not shoulder the blame for it, but they must learn in depth about what has been done.

I think It is a good idea to teach students there is not any reason to discriminate based on rase. I also think they should take in the consideration of not suppressing the other cultures.

#3 Expert Counter Argument

Agreed, if children are taught from a young age that our institutions are inherently racist, then, in turn, it teaches children dangerous stereotypes, and it teaches them to "distinguish" groups of people (from themselves) in harmful ways.

I don't agree with critical race theory being taught in k-12. there is little fact based in in critical race theory, and rather than studying the racial influence of the past and examining how that impacted society, it radicalizes each race for the things that they've done bad and creates a divide amongst people.

It is fact because we see systemic racism all in our history, past and current, in every field. It doesn't pit people of different races against each other it just makes us knowledgeable about the racism minorities have faced systemically.

I believe that critical race theory should only be taught in high school at least because CRT is a lot in depth and too much for a child who isn't mature enough to handle with such. CRT is mainly taught in universities and law schools but I think it should be for in high school. CRT is NOT fact because it is just a theory. It is not to teach children to hate other children by their race, but to be aware of the racial aspect of U.S history and how deep rooted it is.

Intentionally keeping children uneducated about fundamental and societal issues and the way our history affects how things are run today is simply keeping them in ignorance as a way to excuse ourselves from the blame. It teaches empathy, not competition and will encourage them to fight and fix issues in their future, not hide from them.

Although it does point out race to younger kids it's important they understand the history of racism and how it has continue to survive through out the years, so they don't make the same mistakes and learn to build a brighter future for everyone.

Critical Race Theory engages in critical thinking based on social aspects of our society and how those things have shaped our political landscape. The idea that critical race theory puts different races against each other is lie as it is a claim that tries to justify inequality amongst people of color. Critical Race Theory is a history class taught by the lens of the Oppressed and shouldn't be banned in our education system.

I grew up in a community where there was no concept of Critical Race Theory. Kids would say slurs to be funny not really knowing the weight those words carry. I feel like, as a white man, the critical race theory classes I was required to take not only helped my understanding of the hardships that were felt through the families negatively impacted by slavery but also made me feel closer to another community that I would have otherwise never gotten access to. Not to mention those courses have given me the courage to speak out against hate and push for a more peaceful society.

It’s important because not every student in the class is the same color and inputting that there’s a race for superior the other ones diminishes how you influence each child and seeing their friends or how they would see others in the world which would leather affect them in a greater scale and being internally or genuinely racist towards other races knowing that at the end of the day, we all bleed and have the same functioning organs to survive

If everyone had the education behind racism in this country, they wouldn’t make this argument. Racism is inherently present in every single aspect of American life. Nearly everything can be traced back to slavery for the African American community. The reason for so many talented black athletes? Their ancestors were bred to enhance specific qualities to make them better workers. Today, black communities are still vulnerable to gentrification, police brutality, stereotyping, etc. Systemic racism is just that, a system, that has existed for hundreds of years and we still feel the effects of which to this day. It’s important to educate kids on this so the cycle can end, and they think critically about why this country is what it is today.
