Many of these weapons being described can be implied as fairly basic in law enforcement and have been staples for the profession. Modern gas operated rifles with 30 round magazines are almost exclusively used by law enforcement in high stakes situations e.g: Hostage Rescue, Riots, Active shootings. ICE almost directly places themselves in dangerous situations, because rally’s against them have gotten violent with agents, and the people ICE are after have a higher chance of pulling a gun or weapon, because they acknowledge they are not here legally. ICE is a Federal Agency, so they’re not even on the local police level, and many other federal agencies have access to the same weapons as ICE, because they’re at the federal level, and receive more funding which is placed to ensure better safety for agents.
