While abortion is morally wrong according to my religion, and I believe each child should have a choice, the government does not have a right to ban certain medical treatments, as long as they are privately funded. I do not think that abortions should be covered by insurance except in the case of rape or incest, but they should not be banned because the government does not have the power to. Additionally, just the banning of the treatment will not prevent the activity. The amount of illegal abortions will drastically increase, leading to dangerous consequences for both the baby and the mother. The individual has the right to choose, even if I would not personally align with this decision.

One, I believe it's murder, and it goes against everything I stand for. People like to point out that it's just a clump of cells, but scientists have repeatedly shown that it is life from conception. People like to use rape, poverty, etc., to say that abortion needs to stay, but it just adds to the trauma of a dead baby on top of their trauma. Rape is a terrible thing, man or woman, but abortion isn't the answer. There are other ways to succeed in life while also making sure your baby girl or boy has a chance at life. Your baby could also be another persons miracle.

Engaged Abortion #3 Informed Counter Argument
While I am religious and agree abortion is wrong but disagree it should not be banned. May I ask is there a specific point it does become murder, is it at week 6 or 20, and at what point is the baby officially living is it during brain activity or is it heart beat, and how does it differ than a man wanting to get a vasectomy?

Abortion is morally wrong regardless if it is religion or not. There has been emphasis on the fact that abortion mothers felt after having their baby aborted. Abortion mentally took down some mothers, but more so it can make the mother unable to conceive another baby which can lead to depression. It's not just about illegal case growing, its about the emotional toll that an abortion has for former mothers. (I'm not coming back to read your responses ;-;)

I would still vote to ban it because those two scenarios are rare and can be delt with in better ways than murder.

While the individual should have the right to choose in regards to medical health or rape cases, there should never be a scenario where a child is aborted simply because the mother does not want it. The number of infertile or otherwise involved would-be parents waiting on a child to adopt is more than high enough to ensure that no abortions are necessary. Abortions are absolutely morally wrong and should only even be considered in already terrible situations where imminent harm would be otherwise unavoidable.

It should be understood that no matter what, sex & the ability of reproduction is a privilege for both women & men alike. One that most definitely has the power to produce & create a human life. It's not a gift that should be abused. If one is to make the decision to have intercourse, they wave their say in whatever outcome happens because of what the inherent purpose of sex is, to create life. To then say "I opt to have an abortion because I didn't expect to have a child" & "the thing within in me is not life" is completely oxymoronic to the lat… Read more

I disagree. The right to life is given by God which is the reason that "Thou shalt not kill" is one of the 10 commandments given to Moses. Although some may argued that the baby doesn't have rights until it is born, I would disagree. If someone burns a lot of seeds owned by someone else, they are punished just like someone who burns down trees.
