Pam Bondi Faces Firestorm Over Epstein Files and Alleged DOJ 'Spying' on Congress
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi came under intense bipartisan scrutiny during a heated House Judiciary Committee hearing focused on the Justice Department's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Lawmakers accused Bondi of showing contempt for Congress, stonewalling questions, and failing to show empathy toward Epstein survivors, some of whom were present and felt ignored. The controversy deepened when Bondi appeared to have access to Democratic lawmakers' search histories related to the Epstein files, sparking accusations of DOJ 'spying' on Congress. The hearing devolved into shouting matches, with both Democrats and some Republicans calling for Bondi's resignation or firing.
The episode has raised serious questions about transparency, accountability, and the treatment of Epstein's victims by the Justice Department.
