We should raise it to make it a living wage because, while sure the $15/hour is a good policy, we should do more
For instance, in many metro areas, the cost of living is insanely high. Hell, you'd have to be a millionaire to afford a single family home in San Francisco! The living wage wouldn't force companies to layoff workers, so long as we subsidize small businesses, instead of the corporations who are clearly wealthy enough to do it and still manage to turn profits. Combined with a 4-day workweek and an 8-hour workday, as studies show, these are crucial to making happy, healthy, and effective employees.
