Not everyone has to succumb to other people's religious beliefs
If you don't like/approve of gay marriage, you don't have to be in a gay marriage. What others do shouldn't affect your life or beliefs. God never explicitly says gay marriage is wrong, and it is never mentioned in the Bible. If God is a "loving father who cares for his children," then he loves unconditionally, despite people's relationship habits and sexuality. Not everything outside of God's principles is a sin. The idea of gay marriage being a sin in Christianity is built off of Christian people's stereotypes and personal interpretations of the Bible, not God's teachings. Acts 10:28: "God has shown me that I shall not call anyone impure or unclean." No person should ever be classified as entirely "sinful," and the Bible very clearly says that. Gay marriage is not harmful to the persons in the marriage or anyone else. You can't compare gay marriage to a father protecting their child, it's comparing apples to oranges.
