Agreed. The more equitment we give police officers, the more we are giving them the power to abuse the power that they have.

Agree. Police weaponary needs to be heavily regulated, and the people that are allowed to be police officers should also have to go through heavy background checks, and I think there should be more regulation for who the people are standing up for the citizens of this country. The more weaponry we have, combined with the lack of accountability from the government makes a bad combination of abuse of power.

I agree as the police is a local safety enforcement body as they should try to be a group that seeks the peaceful and less violent/aggressive options unless those who they are dealing with are making a clear threat and refuse collaboration.

But giving the police less resources puts a strain on them and can force them to act when its not necessary due to fear or stress. It also places them in a position of not knowing whether in any situation they are prepared which induces more of a stress response which can blow things out of proportion.

This is one possible outcome of giving the police more equipment. Although the system is corrupt, not every cop is power-hungry.
