Why not tell them racism is systemic and imbedded into polices, institutions, and legal systems? So you can make children see the world in black and white? What if they ask about ALL OF THE GREY in the black in white? What will you tell them?
I've heard people say "something like that isn't a thing children should be taught, all the big issues, it's too complicated for them.", to that I say that's absolutely unreasonable. That's like saying math isn't to be taught to kids simply because it has intense and complicated problems like in Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, etc. It's why you teach them 2+2=4, then 2x3=6, then 10 divided by 2 = 5, and so on. notice a pattern? IT'S GRADUAL. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF LEARNING IMPORTANT THINGS.

racial discrimination is important to teach as the history that is taught today is watered down today. And the full truth that lawmakers put in social studies is only half of what happend today. african Americans were killed by whites in unimaginable ways. fed to alligators for show, their skinned ripped up to make pursues. they weren't even seen as human. these traumas our ancestors face still live wit us today

i dont think that it is too complicated a matter for kids, but its simply not factual. our country has been built of liberty and freedom adn we all have equal oppurtunitity. with this generation, who we have ben taught were victims, it shows up in how we perform becuase weve been taught hte world and our nation is against us.
