People do not have to explain their circumstances to anyone but what if they were raped? What if they can’t provide for the child? What if they are not mentally stable and end up abusing a child? I think it takes a lot of courage to say you do not want to have a child and go through an abortion.

I disagree, there are many instances where women are wrongfully or accidentally impregnated and cannot/will not be able to support child due to income levels, the child being born with significant disabilities that the parent will not be able to support, etc. however thought should be put into abortion before doing it, but it should always be an option.

 @BDDC6QF from Louisiana  disagreed…2mos2MO

That's the thing, if you want to be doing those things, you need to learn to accept the responsibilities, and plus, it's not you are aborting yourself, your aborting the body inside of you. They are still a human, it wasn't a dog and a human, it wasn't a cow and a human, it was a human and human. And she holds a body inside of her, and if you can only find the heartbeat at 24 weeks, why kill them? You know it's alive, regardless, and to have an abortion is to kill the baby, so the baby is alive at conception. It doesn't matter about being raped either, you don't have the right to murder, when has two wrongs make a right?

 @BD9GV9L from Colorado  disagreed…2mos2MO

Abortions can be used for so many different things, it's healthcare. Not murder like what some pro-life people will tell you. Having the choice with your own body is a basic human right. Going into a doctors office and leaving in cuffs should never be a thing in a "free" country.

 @BD932SZ from Illinois  disagreed…2mos2MO

Young teenage girls are raped every day, thinking through isn't an option for some cases. Forcing a child to have a child is cruel. If someone plans on having a child and then something comes up to where the child wouldn't be raised in a happy loving home, they should have a right to abort it.

 @BD9R8YW from Florida  disagreed…2mos2MO

The parents who have the child not always have a choice. In some cases the parents don't even know each other. Situations such as one night stands or rape can lead to the female becoming pregnant. The female should have the choice to abort the child if she wants. The reasons why she aborts the child should be no one else business besides her. In most cases, the child is not even considered a child, it is a group of cells.

 @BDB94NBDemocrat from Texas  commented…2mos2MO

Based on these three answer choices I believe this is the best counter argument because it states realistic situations that can result in women wanting to get an abortion. Unfortunately there are situations where a women can get pregnant against her will which can result to her not wanting the child, medical complications that could disable her child, or even living environment/parent care that aren’t good for a child to live in. Woman should be able to do what they want with their own body, and shouldn’t be anyone else’s business in what she does or wants to do.

Many cases of rape or accidental pregnancies can lead to children being neglected or abused, and potentially life-threatening conditions can occur halfway through pregnancies, threatening the life of the mother.

 @BD93MDW  from Wisconsin  disagreed…2mos2MO

Some fetuses and unborn children aren't actual human being until they actually begin to grow, and sometimes the parents aren't able or ready to take care of a child. If they cant support themselves, how can they take care of a healthy kid?? Then there's also rape victims, who didn't choose to conceive the child. No one deserves to be forced into having the kid of their rapist.

 @BDDYZD8Democrat from New Jersey  disagreed…2mos2MO

Being pro-choice is not about using abortion as “birth control” or avoiding responsibility. It is about recognizing that pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood are deeply personal, life-altering experiences, and the person most affected should have the right to make that decision for themselves. No one else fully understands an individual’s health, circumstances, future, or ability to carry a pregnancy. In a society that values personal freedom, it is troubling to believe the government or other individuals should have greater authority over someone’s body than they do themselves.

 @BDBLLYF from Texas  disagreed…2mos2MO

Women get raped and SA by men everyday and anytime , some of the those are little innocent little girls who are 6-14 years old and are not strong enough to give birth and would not survive giving birth or just in general do not want to have the baby of the rapist, this girls should have a choice to abort the baby or not, its their body, their choice.

 @BDGJFMS from Texas  disagreed…2mos2MO

Its not about regretting it, its a womans body its her choice. it may not be her fault and victims of sexual violence may not know they were a victim till years down the road. I promise that women arent having abortions for fun and its more based on if they feel like they can provide a child a home thats loving and stable.

 @BDB23QN from North Carolina  disagreed…2mos2MO

My stance on abortion is your body your choice. There are many people who aren't fit to be parents and that is their choice. I think you should do whatever is best for you and the child and adoption is always and option.

 @BDBMRZ7 from Kansas  disagreed…2mos2MO

Making a child is not always a choice depending on the circumstances. In addition what a woman decides to do with HER body, no matter what, is her choice. Some reasonable restrictions should be made, but women are not incubators and their lives matter too.

 @BD9NHG9 from Indiana  disagreed…2mos2MO

There are so many other possibilities someone could need an abortion that isn’t just because they regret it.

 @BD944PM from California  disagreed…2mos2MO

Not every child is planned. Things happen and not everything is very thought through. It is the woman's choice whether she wants to put her body through something like childbirth or not.

 @BDB83JB  from Illinois  disagreed…2mos2MO

What if it wasn’t the parents choice, as if they got sexually assaulted? Also, what if a person has bad mental health and won’t be able to properly take care of a child? What if they have health problems that can ruin this child’s life?

 @BDB49KG  from Texas  disagreed…2mos2MO

Sex is not solely for procreation, many people have sex for recreational reasons and should not be forced to bring a child into a home that cannot provide for them.

 @BD93M7T from Wisconsin  disagreed…2mos2MO

Although you may have had an intuitive to have a child, many things could arrive during the pregnancy that could affect the childs life, along with financial troubles and other things.

 @BDBBHCVPeace and Freedom from Indiana  agreed…2mos2MO

If you were willing to do the action that can make a baby, and you did the action willingly, you should keep the baby; if it was forced, like SA, rape, or unconstitutional, it should be legal for an abortion.

 @BD935HPNo Labels from Illinois  agreed…2mos2MO

I agree that if it was the parents choice to have the kid then they should not have the choice to kill it, it was their choice to have that kid. Unless they have been forced into the act and the result is a kid then they should not be able to kill it

 @BD98TYC from Nebraska  disagreed…2mos2MO

No, this is not applicable at all because there could be the possibility of it being rape or not agreed upon.

 @BD96F78 from Colorado  disagreed…2mos2MO

Yes I agree having a child is the Parent's Choice unfortunately even when parents don't choose to have a child and consciously understand that and Friendship still happens and they still end up having an unwanted pregnancy or a woman is under the influence and does not get the choice whether or not to end up with the child I agree you shouldn't kill a life form just because but what you're saying doesn't make sense you're contradicting yourself you said having the child was the Parent's Choice but then you Only agree that it's the Parent's Choice…  Read more
