I know it may seem strange that someone who has had a life-saving organ transplant as a baby and who was adopted (my birth parents were 17 & 19), that I am pro-choice. My parents could have aborted me and I wouldn't care cause I wouldn't have consciousness anyways. But it was their CHOICE. If I became pregnant, my medications could cause a miscarriage, deformities, the pregnancy itself could kill me, etc. My medications also make birth control not as effective due to lowering the hormones in the blood. So luckily, I was able to get my fallopian tubes removed so I wouldn't have to have an abortion if I got pregnant. But even those who do everything to prevent pregnancies such as birth control, condoms, etc., its not always 100% effective. Things happen. Rape happens. I think the worst thing is for a baby that is unwanted is to be abused and neglected or abandoned completely after it is born and can feel pain. Abortions also happen during the first three months the majority of the time and if it happens later, it is due to medical issues, not because someone happen to change their minds. In fact, many people who have abortions are already mothers who cant afford to take care of another child. Whether they are low-income, are disabled, or maybe their child is disabled and needs the attention another child cannot get, they get an abortion to be able to be a better mother to the child/children they already have. A lot of mothers who get abortions may not live if they continue with the pregnancy. Leaving a born child motherless because they want to save the fetus than the mother is selfish. That is just my opinion.
