Here are your answers compared to this voter’s answers.
Social › Abortion
4>4 Personal answerPro-life, and I also oppose abortion for victims of rape and incest |
Social › Gay Marriage
4>4 Personal answerYes, but allow churches the right to refuse same-sex ceremonies |
the Economy › Equal Pay
4>4 Personal answerNo, there are too many other variables such as education, experience, and tenure that determine a fair salary |
Domestic Policy › Gun Control
4>4 Personal answerNo. The shootings are not gun issues. Many of these tragedies would have still happened in one way or another without guns. These are mental health issues, not gun issues. Mental health is a big problem in this country. Many who need it are unable to receive it. Many that have the ability to receive it don't due to stigma. There isn't anything the government can do to change viewpoints towards mental illness, but a step would be in helping to bring it more to the forefront instead of pitting pro and anti gun people against each other. |
Social › Gender Identity
4>4 Personal answerNo, there are only two genders which are genetically not psychologically determined |
Social › Religious Freedom Act
4>4 Personal answerI believe if a business is open to the public, they should serve the public. If there are portions of your business that you may oppose for any reason that does not physically or monetarily hurt your business (ie, not allowing in a customer who has bounced checks or caused damages in the past) then you should reconsider your business. |
Immigration › Muslim Immigrant Ban
4>4 Personal answerNo, same as Syria. We need to show them that we aren't as bad as the leaders are painting us to be. Trump is the poster child for what the terrorist leaders are claiming of all Americans. |
Social › Planned Parenthood Funding
4>4 Personal answerNo, and the government should not give funds to any organizations |
the Economy › Minimum Wage
4>4 Personal answerMinimum wage should adjust with inflation every few years. However, minimum wage jobs are not meant to support a household. Workers who do their job well will not stay at minimum wage long. If they do, they are in the wrong company. People complain about wal-mart, but people stay there, so there is no message sent that people WON'T work for those wages. |
the Environment › Climate Change
4>4 Personal answerNo, provide more incentives for alternative energy production instead |
the Economy › Paid Sick Leave
4>4 Personal answerYes, but only for those who are full time workers that have been with the company for a certain period of time (like a year or more). Salaried workers should continue to receive their salary and hourly workers should receive the average of what they had worked each week from over the last year. |
Domestic Policy › Drug Policy
4>4 Personal answerThe drug laws need to be accompanied by with assistance for those in trouble. I do believe government should spend money on rehabilitation for first time offenders. If the issues are caught early and individuals are taught another way (in the case of selling) there is a higher chance that they will not return to it. Fining and giving prison time, I don't believe, is as much of a deterient as help. |
Domestic Policy › Term Limits
4>4 Personal answerThe experience is essential. However, it also becomes a "Good Ole' Boys{Girls}" club. If the public continues to vote an individual in though, and then complains about them being corrupt, it was the public that put them there. |
Domestic Policy › Muslim Surveillance
4>4 Personal answerNo. This has happened in black communities and the result is an increased distrust for the police force in many instances. This distrust leads to making rash and poor decisions when confronted and I believe is the major root of the Black vs. Police issues. I am not black, so I do not know, but if my neighborhood were heavily patrolled, like they were just waiting for something to happen, I would feel paranoid that they were looking for a reason to arrest or ticket or shoot. If we increase patrol in Muslim neighborhoods I believe it would cause that same feeling, and not trusting the Police, who are supposed to serve and protect, could cause individuals to side more towards the Muslim extermists. The terrorists aren't going to post their plans on their front porch. They aren't going to do anything to make anyone suspect until it is too late. |
Education › Student Loans
4>4 Personal answerNo, but be keep interest rates in check for any company providing student loans. Provide opportunities for individuals to "pay back" loans through volunteering and donation of time/education. Forgive loans to those who are working in areas that are the least desirable (for intance, teachers who go to teach in an inner city area, or doctors willing to move to Alaska) |
Social › Death Penalty
4>4 Personal answerYes, for anyone convicted of child molestation |
Healthcare › Marijuana
4>4 Personal answerYes, and legalize, tax, and regulate marijuana instead of criminalizing it |
Social › Government Mandates
4>4 Personal answerHealth insurance companies are public. They should offer plans that include any type of health care options. It is up to the companies purchasing the insurance to choose the plans, so they would have the option of choosing plans that they would like to offer. If your company doesn't cover what you would like, purchase on your own, or find a new company. |
Social › Confederate Flag
4>4 Personal answerYes, but only at historical monuments where it was originally flown |
Domestic Policy › No-Fly List Gun Control
4>4 Personal answerYes, if you are on the no-fly list you should not have a gun. If it is an error, there are measures that can be taken to correct it. No one needs a gun "right now". |
Domestic Policy › NSA Domestic Surveillance
4>4 Personal answerI don't believe that any agency should be able to collect this information on individuals. There is such a thing as privacy. I don't necessarily care that they collect information on me, I have nothing to hide and really nothing interesting enough to even entertain someone. However, it is a matter of privacy and once one thing is okay, another becomes okay, and soon we are at the mercy of the government. |
Domestic Policy › Gerrymandering
4>4 Personal answerBase the congressional districts on populations. |
Social › Women in Combat
4>4 Personal answerYes, as long as they can pass the same physical tests as men |
Healthcare › Medicaid
4>4 Personal answerI would like to see the healthcare industry as a whole come back down to earth and be something that individuals have the opportunity to afford. It should be more like auto insurance. You should have it, it will help you for the big stuff, but little things should be easily paid out of pocket. A trip to the doctor for a nasty cold and to the pharmacy for medication should be affordable in the same way that getting an oil change is. Diseases that require multiple treatments, long hospital stays, many surgeries, that's what the insurance should be for. Everyday occurances like doctor visits, immunizations, even broken bones, or (the big one to me) child birth, should be something the average citizen could cover without a company stepping in and paying half. If these costs were made reasonable, the funding for health care for low income individuals would not be as big of a drain on the government as it is now. |
Immigration › Border Security
4>4 Personal answerNo |
Social › Gender Workplace Diversity
4>4 Personal answerNo, board members should be the most qualified regardless of gender |
the Environment › Alternative Energy
4>4 Personal answerYes, the government should support more sustainable energy technologies |
Immigration › Immigration Healthcare
4>4 Personal answerNo, not a citizen, should not be given government subsidized anything. |
Elections › Voter Fraud
4>4 Personal answerWhy wouldn't you have a photo ID if you are of voting age? Yes, it should be required, and of all individuals so there's no "profiling" |
Domestic Policy › Patriot Act
4>4 Personal answerNo. I understand the idea, and I'm sure many terrorist acts have been prevented because of survelience. However, we cannot give up our individual freedoms in order to feel protected. You didn't see this scale of "American Infidel" in the past. We were a better country before. We were proud of our country (on the large scale) and there was such a thing as the American Dream. We have deterriorated as a country. There is no "American Dream" unless you county being materialistic, judgemental, and constantly offended. During World War II people gave up luxuries in order to support their country, even when their husbands/sons/brothers/friends were sent fighting. While there is still military support, it is not the same. It is not true support, but rather a support with a side of guilt and disgust to those that oppose it. |
the Economy › Government Spending
4>4 Personal answerShould decrease in some areas, but not in all. The government is a customer to many businesses and to pull from that will affect the economy poorly. |
Domestic Policy › Net Neutrality
4>4 Personal answerNo, this would allow them to remove competition, create artificial scarcity, and increase prices |
Social › First Amendment
4>4 Personal answerYes, but do not waste money removing existing references |
Domestic Policy › Gun Liability
4>4 Personal answerManufacturers should only be fined if the injury was due to a malfunction in the gun (this is not gun violence). Firearms dealers should only be fined (and possible license provoction) if they are found to have not performed all of the tests/checks that are required for purchasing a gun. I say "Fined" not "Sued". It is the person who pulls the trigger that is to blame for gun violence, no one else. Manufactuerers and Dealers are not in the business to sell to anybody no matter what they want to do with the guns. Good manufacturers and dealers are very passionate about guns and gun safety and are willing to take the necessary steps and procautions that are required, as well as educate people. |
Crime › Solitary Confinement for Juveniles
4>4 Personal answerAbsolutely. Jouvenile prisons should focus more on education and therapy than on punishment. If they tried harder to rehabilitate them, the adult prisons wouldn't be so full. Although I don't believe in segregation in most instances, I believe it would be helpful in the prison system not only to keep inmates focused on their rehabilitation, but also for the safety of workers, to separate groups where it's possible. Not necessarily by race, but if you know one individual will have a bad time because they are in one gang and members of an opposing gang are there as well, keep them separate. |
Social › Euthanasia
4>4 Personal answerYes, but only after a psychological examination to show they fully understand this choice |
Domestic Policy › Affirmative Action
4>4 Personal answerNo. A company wants to higher the best of the best. That may be a latino woman, that might be a chinese man, that might be a white woman, or a white man. If they want to stick to one race/gender/whatever, that's on them, but they are missing out if the pass someone based on a characteristic and not knowledge. |
the Economy › Labor Unions
4>4 Personal answerHelp, in theory but have recently become corrupt and should have their powers limited |
the Economy › Capital Gains Tax
4>4 Personal answerNo, increasing the capital gains tax will limit investment in our economy |
Education › Common Core
4>4 Personal answerNo, it is a waste of time and effort to change my state’s current educational standards |
the Environment › Oil Drilling
4>4 Personal answerYes, and deregulate the energy sector to let the free market determine the best energy sources |
Healthcare › Obamacare
4>4 Personal answerThe idea is good, however it has increased healthcare costs, increased insurance cost, and driven many companies to decrease who they cover or if they will cover. Leave healthcare to the private sector, they were doing a good enough job screwing the public on prices before the government stepped in. |
the Environment › Fracking
4>4 Personal answerYes, but not in heavily populated areas |
Domestic Policy › Eminent Domain
4>4 Personal answerNo in most instances. If land MUST be used for something, the individual owner of that land must be compensated for the perceived value of the land (based on the governments need for it, not the value prior to) and assisted in relocation and restart up of any sort of business (I'm thinking farmers in this instance). |
Domestic Policy › Social Security
4>4 Personal answerNo. Life expectancy has increased, but not substantially enough to increase retirement age. To work until 70 is for most people, working past a time when you might be able to enjoy life and right up until quality of life begins to decrease. |
Crime › Criminal Voting Rights
4>4 Personal answerNo, I think if you commit and are convicted of a felony, you have forfeited your right to express your opinion for the time you are incarcerated. Once released, however, they are living in the same world and have the right to an opinion on the issues that affect them as anyone else. |
Science › Space Exploration
4>4 Personal answerThey should provide some funding, as long as the research being done is something that will be beneficial to the general public. Otherwise I believe it should be the responsibility of individual companies/people. |
the Economy › Offshore Banking
4>4 Personal answerYes, as long as offshore income is reported |
the Economy › Federal Reserve
4>4 Personal answerNo, Congress is more crooked than the Federal Reserve. Independent auditors should be used and should be selected at random, remaining annonnymous. A lovely thought, but I don't know how this selection could ever be made and remain truly annonymous throughout the process, I wouldn't know what agency/person/etc. would be in charge of those selections. |
the Economy › Farm Subsidies
4>4 Personal answerYes, but only as a temporary measure to stabilize prices |
the Economy › Property Taxes
4>4 Personal answerNo, but decrease tax rates for senior citizens |
the Economy › Pension Reform
4>4 Personal answerYes, pension spending is out of control and must be reduced |
the Economy › Bitcoin
4>4 Personal answerNo, it provides too high of risk for criminal activity |
