In most situations women are re-victimized further when reporting a rape
Many women chose not to report. In some cultures, including United States Citizens, women risk losing all family, community support and religious support if they become pregnant out of wedlock or if they have been raped. Girls in middle school and high school are at the highest risk of being re-victimized, especially if their rapist is amongst their peers. Putting rape stipulations only causes more trauma to the victim. I 100% agree that rape victims should report, however I also know that this takes an extreme amount of courage and everyone’s circumstance is different. Trauma also affects the fetus. Restrictive abortions force women to chose between reliving their trauma so that they can qualify for pregnancy termination or carry full term and passing this trauma onto their unborn child. It’s called “Generational Trauma” and it starts from the time of conception. By forcing a woman to carry full term lawmakers assist in the preset of that child’s fate. These children will often be misunderstood by their adoptive parents, misdiagnosed and often overly medicated due to the misdiagnosis. You sound like a very caring person who cares about victims of sexual abuse. However, stipulated abortions only run the potential for further abuse towards victims. The only way to protect victims of sexual abuse who get pregnant is by legalizing all abortions without stipulations, especially early term pregnancies.
