Disagree. While they are not wrong about biology, race is fundamentally different; no race is worse. Howeve,r these things need to be taught because discrimination is very bad.

I agree. Race is a difference in people but we shouldn't have to teach young children that they're different just because of their skin color. These children shouldn't have to learn to be ashamed because of their race which is something that they can't control. Teaching this is a way of teaching racism and its a waste of education.

I agree with this, I also think that it shouldn’t just be “I’m proud because I’m white” it should be “I’m proud because I am human” at the end of the day, we’re all humans and should treat each other with the respect and dignity we would want to receive.

I agree with this statement. School is a place of learning. It is to prepare children for life and teach them the concepts of math, reading, etc. The schools do not need to make white children feel as if they have to be ashamed of being white and they also do not need to teach black children or any other races to feel that they are victims or that they have inequalities to white children. We are all human at the end of the day. Nobody is superior to anybody.

I agree, by acknowledging that we are and have been different from someone else with a different tone in skin opens the door to racism and discrimination at an early age.

I agree, children are being fed this idea that whites are superior when nowadays in America all races have the same opportunities.

 @B7XFL92 from Texas  disagreed…8mos8MO

Being proud of your race is okay but when you start to put other races down because they aren't the same as you, you shouldn't live in america. because if you don't like the diversity in america you don't like america its one of our core values. It is very important for kids to learn and study in school.

Critical Race theory does not make white children ashamed of their race. It provides an understanding of the lasting effects that people of color suffer due to past events. This is very informative and useful because it allows people to be educated in many issues that have race as the root of the issue . It allows them to not be ignorant to certain topics.

The school systems are not trying to make white children feel ashamed in my opinion. They want to teach us what they did during slavery, and other historical events that aren't necessarily true. If African American children have to deal with learning about slavery in school, white children should have to learn about the actual slave owners or whatever else they did. It is not time wasted it's those kids learning about their background just like African American kids do.

Critical Race Theory shall be important as it also allows for the people to understand their own heritage and to not discriminate against one another.

Race IS a social construct because humans share 99.9% of their DNA. There are not big biological differences between races, and teaching that in schools is important so that all children of all races know that no matter what color they are, they are just as equal and capable as any other human. Now if we were to talk about culture and how that can cause more of the actual differences, that people assume is caused by race, that would be a different conversation. And even then, people of the same race that are raised in different cultures are not going to be the same just because of their race.…  Read more

We are not making your children feel ashamed they are white. That’s not the point. The point is to educate people from all walks of life and all students of the monstrosity minorities were put through due to the color of their skin. How we were made to feel ashamed of our skin. This has nothing to do with making white children feel ashamed of their. We already went through that, I can guarantee you we are not trying to make someone else feel like that. Simply just trying to educate the public.

 @B7X5FJQ from Rhode Island  disagreed…8mos8MO

I agree that race is not a social construct as we are all people regardless of our skin color and where we've come from. However, Critical Race Theory does not mean that being white is something children and adults should be ashamed of, it is something they should be proud of, it is not a waste in education to explain the horrors people of different ethnicity have had to face over the course of humanity.

Schools need to teach facts, that is their number one goal, to make children smarter more aware of what is happening. Critical Race Theory is real and a major problem in society, and if they are unaware of this, the problem is more likely to persist in society.

We should not put in children's minds from young age that they are going to be discriminated as our country and world evolves along with the law protecting people of colors rights. Or country has changed its law to create the most promising an equal land we possibly can and instating from a young age that they everything is unfair no matter what taints their mind.
