This whole comment is very offensive and racist in itself. I believe that people should know the whole truth about our history like if history had no filter. People should feel bad that their ancestors were killers, racist, and bad people. The whole theory shouldn't be built to make one side feel better over another EVER.

no it isn't, young white kids should be told that the majority of white prejudice, something that exists even now and will never disappear unless action is taken.

 @B7YBS2G from Texas  agreed…8mos8MO

I somewhat agree because why make everybody feel like they're different just because of skin color, it also could encourage more racism because of the pride it may bring to some kids.

 @B7Y7D45 from Texas  agreed…8mos8MO

I agree because people are not inherently racist, it is a theme pushed by the government. All different kinds of people are racist, black people, white people, asian people, hispanic people, all of the above.

 @B7Y5P8R  from Texas  agreed…8mos8MO

Race should be less emphasized in general. People should only be judged by their actions and what they can control, not what people before them have done. If we keep discussing race everywhere its only going to keep racism alive. I do agree it should never be created though.

Just tell us you're a white nationalist buddy. People of color should know what white people put their ancestors through. You are the problem.

 @B7YB7G5  from Colorado  disagreed…8mos8MO

It shouldn't be held against white people that their ancestors enslaved black people, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't learn about it. Slavery was a big thing in the United States. A lot of things came from this, good and bad. We shouldn't numb out the great things that happened and the bad things that happened just because you wanna be the victim. How are black people supposed to feel good that they find out that their ancestors were enslaved?
You are trying to wash away an important piece of history that everyone should learn about. Not learning about this is depriving…  Read more

learning critical race theory would teach younger kiddos on about the dark history behind this country and put that learning into use to reduce the amount of racism and prejudice. it would also help with looking at others perspectives just on the difference of skin tone and background. history could and will repeat itself if not taught to put an end to it.

 @B7YGDLM  from Kansas  disagreed…8mos8MO

Critical race theory is put in place to inform people of the past. It is not to put blame on any race or group of people in particular. Nowadays, many aspects of America's prejudiced past have been hidden even though we should be learning about how many ethnic groups were mistreated throughout history.

 @B7YFSTY from North Carolina  disagreed…8mos8MO

Critical race theory helps kids understand their differences so that they can treat eachother better.

 @B7YGXLK from California  disagreed…8mos8MO

Critical race theory is a significant part of history as the United States of America was built upon slavery, which was due to the actions of their ancestors, and should be informed of the past to allow slavery never to happen again, and to be educated about the topic in general. Critical race theory should be taught and does not take away from having pride in one's skin color, but to acknowledge what the United States was built upon.

 @B7YGRSQIndependent from California  disagreed…8mos8MO

White people in the United States back then took part in slavery, which was very cruel and immoral. However, it is a part of our history so it should be taught regardless of how it makes people feel.

 @B7YGNGH from California  disagreed…8mos8MO

I think that we should teach it because although white people did do bad things in the past that doesn’t mean that the current generation is going to that’s a very radical view to not teach racism.

 @B7YGJKX from Washington  commented…8mos8MO

I believe this side is just built to divide us and create more hate in this country. I can be taught in private schools if they want, but in public education, it has no place in the school.

 @B7YFZ4J from California  disagreed…8mos8MO

I don't think that white people should be shamed for something they themselves didn't have any part in. It's important to talk about how slavery and racism shaped America, but at the same time you must also acknowledge that times have changed, and people today have literally not done the same things as their ancestors.

 @B825TC2 from Arizona  agreed…8mos8MO

You are absolutely right. It's a load of *** that only harms whites and empowers everyone else to beat down on whites.

 @B7Y9QVB from Ohio  agreed…8mos8MO

Because nobody learns this topic in school it's not that important and everyone should get along with one-other.

 @B7YBV66 from Missouri  disagreed…8mos8MO

no one should be punished because of the crimes of their ancestors. Ancestors are ancestors for a reason.

 @B8TBLRZDemocrat from Iowa  disagreed…7mos7MO

But aren't we supposed to learn from our ancestors not to repeat the same things in the past? And if you say that your ancestors did all these things and white people in this century don't need to take accountability, then what's the problem with teaching CRT if it deals with your ancestors and not you?
