This whole comment is very offensive and racist in itself. I believe that people should know the whole truth about our history like if history had no filter. People should feel bad that their ancestors were killers, racist, and bad people. The whole theory shouldn't be built to make one side feel better over another EVER.

It shouldn't be held against white people that their ancestors enslaved black people, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't learn about it. Slavery was a big thing in the United States. A lot of things came from this, good and bad. We shouldn't numb out the great things that happened and the bad things that happened just because you wanna be the victim. How are black people supposed to feel good that they find out that their ancestors were enslaved?
You are trying to wash away an important piece of history that everyone should learn about. Not learning about this is depriving… Read more

learning critical race theory would teach younger kiddos on about the dark history behind this country and put that learning into use to reduce the amount of racism and prejudice. it would also help with looking at others perspectives just on the difference of skin tone and background. history could and will repeat itself if not taught to put an end to it.

Critical race theory is put in place to inform people of the past. It is not to put blame on any race or group of people in particular. Nowadays, many aspects of America's prejudiced past have been hidden even though we should be learning about how many ethnic groups were mistreated throughout history.

Critical race theory is a significant part of history as the United States of America was built upon slavery, which was due to the actions of their ancestors, and should be informed of the past to allow slavery never to happen again, and to be educated about the topic in general. Critical race theory should be taught and does not take away from having pride in one's skin color, but to acknowledge what the United States was built upon.

I don't think that white people should be shamed for something they themselves didn't have any part in. It's important to talk about how slavery and racism shaped America, but at the same time you must also acknowledge that times have changed, and people today have literally not done the same things as their ancestors.

no one should be punished because of the crimes of their ancestors. Ancestors are ancestors for a reason.
But aren't we supposed to learn from our ancestors not to repeat the same things in the past? And if you say that your ancestors did all these things and white people in this century don't need to take accountability, then what's the problem with teaching CRT if it deals with your ancestors and not you?
