Guns aren't the problem, people are the problem

A gun sitting on a table isn't going to do anything unless someone picks it up. Europe has banned guns and yet they have a knife epidemic because blades are still legal. The weapon isn't the problem, it isn't the fault of the seller for how the gun is used, the only person liable is the person who uses it.

Yes. Violent people are a problem. 100%. However, if a violent person with intent to kill has a gun vs a blade in front of them, which will they choose? The very purpose of a gun is to kill, whereas blades are a tool a multitude of other purposes. Yes, people will find a way to hurt themselves or others when a gun isn’t available, but guns sure are the better option, right?
The weapon is also the problem because it makes it way too easy for bad people to kill.

I agree with you which is why I think increased gun laws will help keep people who might do harm to others away from the gun. Assuming you are of sound mind and not a serial killer than there would be no stopping you from getting guns.

I feel like all Gun Liability is the best way so if you get your firearm is stolen so you can get money back or have insurance on your stuff.

I agree one hundred percent the gun can not fire itself and it is a source of protection for people in need.

I agree with this comment, the gun itself isn't as fault but the user is. It's the same argument as stated that people still use knives to harm others but should be ban knives? No.

I agree because it is up to the person to decide what they want to do with that gun. I have guns everywhere in my house, WE KNOW they're there. we just decide to not do anything with them until it is needed, like to hunt or for personal defense.

Yes, I 100% agree with this that guns aren't the problem, it's the people. The people need to step up and be better, then this gun problem issue wouldn't be so bad and as big as it is.

yes. guns are not the problem but they give people the availability to use them in a bad way. people need guns for hunting and self protection.

People have the right to bare arms , but not with something that can entirely harm someone to an extend.

Elizabeth Warren Walks Back Murder Comments

Congressional Democrats broadly denounced the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson Friday morning, after Republicans started accusing Sen. Elizabeth Warren of excusing violence.“No one's condoning this,” said Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.). “Violence never is the right answer for anything. And it was a horrible murder, a tragic loss for his family.” Warren this week condemned the shooting, but added that people “can be pushed only so far.”"We'll say it over and over," Warren said on MSNBC’S “The ReidOut.” " Violence is never the answer. This guy [Luigi Mangione] gets a trial who's allegedly killed the CEO of UnitedHealth, but you can only push people so far, and then they start to take matters into their own hands."In a statement to POLITICO, Warren said, “Violence is never the answer. Period. I should have been much clearer that there is never a justification for murder.” Top Republicans denounced Warren's comments and the walked-back rhetoric, with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) calling it “inappropriate and dangerous.”Some House Democrats asked about the incident on Thursday pivoted the conversation to discuss policy options on health care or gun safety.“I don't really know that this is really a space that Congress normally weighs in on,” said Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas). “But at the end of the day, I think it’s an opportunity, because now people are talking about health care and to talk about the fact that this industry has honestly not been as helpful as it could be.”“Violence is never the answer,” said Rep. Troy Carter (D-La.). “We know that there are people suffering, there’s great challenges in healthcare. There's great challenges, and people have, in fact, been wronged, but a process of governance is the way to address that, not violence.”And Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) who denounced the murder, said the killer should be prosecuted and that “I do know that allegedly a ghost gun was used, and we should also ban ghost guns. There's no reason for them beyond the streets.”
