The LEGAL minimum wage is $7.25
There is no argument for that, it is simply unlivable. Americans are working 2+ jobs and are still just barely scraping by even with a spouse also contributing. Even just 10-20 years ago this was not the case. The rich grow richer and the divide gets larger and larger. Bottom line the minimum wage MUST be raised or prices MUST come down.

I absolutely agree with this. As the younger generation enter the world it's becoming more and more realized that the average person has no way of living in this world. The price of everything is too high, college makes it difficult to secure a good job and the old dream of working your way up at a job is dead and has been for years due to the oldguard staying for so long. Action needs to be made before the country falls into another economic disaster.

Minimum wage jobs are for entry level, young, and new-to-the-workforce people. If you raise the minimum wage, in addition to hiking prices everywhere (employers will have to raise the prices of goods and services to afford their inflated emplyee costs thus leading to inflation for consumers), you will also be removing opportunities for young workers who are just learning work ethic and basic skills.

Yes, I agree. $7.25 is NOT a livable wage, for anybody, period. It is ridiculous that people are always one missed paycheck away from homelessness or getting water, electricity, heat, etc cut off, but then barely have enough for other essentials and even for little recreational time for themselves or their families.

I agree that the minimum wage should be increased. The economy is bad right now and the prices are high, everything is expensive (housing, school, food). People from middle class, or middle lower class are living form check to check and that should not be like that at all. Now if the government don't want to increase the Minimum wage the government should at least provide better help or benefits the people, also making it more accessible in the way that provide translators and easy ways to register.

I agree that $7.25 is extremely difficult to live on today. The cost of housing, food, and healthcare has gone up a lot while the federal minimum wage hasn’t changed since 2009. Many people working full time still struggle to cover basic expenses, which shows why this issue keeps coming up in policy debates.
