Women's autonomy should always be put first. A woman is a recognized person and a citizen guarantee of rights; a fetus has yet to be born, has no documentation, and has no independent existence.

There is a difference between the inherent instincts that allow for fetuses to react, compared to actual human consciousness which doesn't develop until almost the end of pregnancy when abortions would not be conducted. The birth of the child later on could also kill or impair the mother, or result in a child born into a family unable to support the offspring.

Giving birth to a child is a big responsibility. If you aren't ready to have a child, they are prone to be put into corrupt systems like foster care. Not to mention that if the person isn't ready to have a baby it can lead to abuse and neglect. Victims of sexual assault sometimes tend to end up hating the child. Putting another child into the world that you aren't ready for is abuse to yourself and the child later on. It's not worth the risk. Think about the person delivering the baby and the environment before the unborn clump of cells that can't think or form a thought. Choices are important and nobody should be forced to give birth if they don't want to, it can be an extremely traumatic experience. Also, it's 'which' not 'witch'.

Once a baby is conceived it is not human until a certain point in pregnancy, it is a fetus. There are many circumstances in which a woman should not be forced to have a child she does not want. Rape, incest, money trouble, health issues, and even just not wanting a child are more than enough of a reason to not have a child. If it is not your body, it is not your choice.

 @BD78GHQProgressive from Virginia  disagreed…2mos2MO

Inside of the womb a fetus is nonviable until late term pregnancies. 91-93% of abortions occur in the first trimester. Women who are victims of rape, incest, and assault should have access to healthcare. It is more responsible to have an abortion than to bring a child into the world where they will not have a stable life.

 @BD735SG from South Carolina  disagreed…2mos2MO

If the parent/s can’t support a baby or if the parent was a victim of abuse/ rape they should be given the opportunity to abort the baby so the baby’s life wouldn’t be chaos but it should be done early in the pregnancy before the fetus actually gained consciousness

 @BD7555R from California  disagreed…2mos2MO

Heartbeat is Not Equal to Self-Awareness: The cardiac activity detectable around 6 weeks is scientifically described by doctors as a "flutter" or "flicker" of cells, not a functional heart with chambers. More importantly, a heartbeat is not a sign of consciousness or personhood—many living things (e.g., plants, or even human brain-dead patients) have biological activity but not moral personhood.

 @BD7NXXL from Colorado  disagreed…2mos2MO

Pregnancy is very dangerous for women and it should be her choose whether to terminate it or to keep it because it is considered a parasite on her body until the fetus is viable and is harming the women more than helping it. There are barely any services supporting the baby once it is born so this argument is not about, "saving babies" it is about controlling women.

 @BD7MGC3 from Washington  disagreed…2mos2MO

The choice to be made whether to have an abortion or not should be made by the person carrying the pregnancy. Having the right of choice is will not force one to have an abortion, just gives options.

 @BD78CCHDemocrat from North Carolina  disagreed…2mos2MO

Fetuses don't have consciences, and its the mothers choice on whether she wants to keep it or not, regardless of the circumstance.

 @BD7G87T from Indiana  disagreed…2mos2MO

While I agree with your statement about unborn babies, but women also have a right to have full power over their own body and have the right to do what they want, especially if they are severely underage or just not ready for parenthood.

 @BD74XYB from Nevada  disagreed…2mos2MO

I can completely understand that way of thinking. But with all do respect the women that are carrying the fetus may have a complication when it comes to delivery and could be facing death if they carry to term. As well as it being none of our business what these women do with thier bodies. As long as they are a consenting adult it shouldn’t matter. For most of the women getting an abortion it isn’t just a clump of cells but the child they have been dreaming of and unfortunately life has other plans for that fetus.

 @BD7CX73Peace and Freedom from Ohio  disagreed…2mos2MO

In my opinion, it is the women's choice to her body and if she wants a abortion it should be allowed.

 @BD7RWLB  from California  agreed…2mos2MO

I agree, even if a different stage of development, the fetus is still considered a human being due to them having a heart beat and having awareness in their surroundings. If they were just clump cells, they would not show the same characteristics as human beings and wouldn't be considered alive due to their lack of motion and awareness.

 @BD7B8XL  from North Carolina  agreed…2mos2MO

I agree with that because they are a human being with a heart beat. It is Murder to have an abortion. It is wrong. I do have sympathy for women that get rapped, but even so I do not think that they should have an abbortion.

 @BD735W9Republican from Illinois  agreed…2mos2MO

Yes i agree, the only time abortion should be allowed is in cases of sex without consent or rape, or when the womans life is in danger

 @BD7NHBH from California  disagreed…2mos2MO

Before we ban access to abortions, we need to prioritize bettering the foster care system to make sure that child will end up in a good home if it needs to be brought into the world. Stating that it has the same moral worth as a human but not caring about their worth after they're born is counterintuitive.

 @BD7L77H  from California  disagreed…2mos2MO

Yes they are a living baby BUT some people aren't ready for a living breathing human nor was it a consensual conception. How are we expected to allow teenage girls to raise a child when they themselves are children? How are we expected to allow the government to control healthcare rights of a whole gender? If I had to choose between my wifes life or my babys life I would pick my wifes but I have that choice because abortion is legal, the second it becomes illegal I would have to sit there and watch my wife die. Thats unfair.

 @BD7VGWYfrom Maine  disagreed…2mos2MO

It's still the choice of the parents, what if they're in a financial bad position or have mental issues which doesn't favour having a child?
