Foreigners are also human beings with rights, and even though they reside in a country that is not their own, they too should have the right to vote, given that—at times—such decisions can harm or benefit these very individuals.

 @BD7GYBW from Florida  disagreed…4wks4W

They are foreigners, they are not active citizens of the U.S. Other countries's citizens shouldn't be making the decisions for America.

 @BD7HFZB from South Dakota  agreed…4wks4W

I mean if they have a proper reason to be here and most poeple face more deadly things from maybe where they came from.

 @BD7HGG7  from Arizona  agreed…4wks4W

I do concur. For non-Americans in America to escape the horrors of home, they deserve just as much rights as everybody else.

 @BD7GR99Democrat from Florida  agreed…4wks4W

I do agree with this comment because once you are in the U.S, you are one of us decide with us for the right of the people.

If they are not citizens, why should they be able to? Foreign governments can send spies or tons of people to visit certain US cities just to tip the vote.

 @BBC3MTD  from Kentucky  agreed…3mos3MO

even if they are not from America as long as they are a U.S citizen I think they have the right to vote.

 @BBBGP7N from Virginia  agreed…3mos3MO

I agree with the idea, but no the premise. I Don't think foreign governments are swinging the vote enough to make that matter, it's more like if you do not live in the United States as a citizen, then you do not get to decide how the livelihood of Americans are affected.

 @BBCBJRVPeace and Freedomfrom Maine  agreed…3mos3MO

Voting is a right for citizens, not for non-citizens. Decisions about our government should be made by people who are legally part of this country. Allowing non-citizens to vote weakens election integrity and opens the door to outside influence and abuse. Protecting our elections and our sovereignty must come first.

 @BBC4QX7Peace and Freedom from Washington  agreed…3mos3MO

completely agree. only people that live here and will be a part of the results should be alowed to vote

 @B9GCP8DPeace and Freedom  from Texas  agreed…5mos5MO

I believe that illegal citizens should be allowed to vote because sometimes people come in the right way but may take years to finally be approved to be a citizen and there are also more ways which also take time.

 @B9H3PGN from Massachusetts  disagreed…5mos5MO

You are a foreigner UNTIL you are vetted AND become a US citizen. Up to that time you are not a US citizen and cannot share in the benefits that the US can/will provide. In no other country can you vote as a foreigner. If you FIX how the US approves citizens and in a timely manner then this issue goes away but until that happens you are a foreigner with no rights.

 @B9H3DHJ from Nevada  disagreed…5mos5MO

If they are an illegal citizen, then they should not vote because then the election is swayed by non-U.S. citizens. If it takes years to finally be approved then find another way like a work visa and have the paperwork to show you can legally be here.

 @B9J3QV9 from Ohio  disagreed…5mos5MO

Illegals are inherently not citizens, they did not come here the right way. They should wait outside the country until accepted, if they are even accepted, which they have no right to be. If they live here they shouldn’t be voting, they should be deported.

 @9RCVDHTRepublican  from New York  disagreed…5mos5MO

There is a system for a reason. By allowing illegal citizens to vote there is no regulation on the authenticity of the voter and if they believe in the core values of our country. Additionally, it directly dilutes the value of legal citizen's votes.

 @BD62GZ6  from Minnesota  disagreed…1mo1MO

voting should be limited to citizens, since they have a formal, long-term commitment to the country. Citizenship sets a clear standard, avoids confusion about who qualifies, and ensures that decisions about national policies are made by those officially part of the political community

 @BD7FG8ZLibertarian from Texas  commented…4wks4W

I agree with this statement because American citizens have lived in America far more longer than foreigners so only citizens know what is truly best for this country.

 @BD68Q5WRepublican from California  agreed…1mo1MO

I agree, the action of voting for a representative for our country should be reserved to the people who pay taxes and for those who went through the effort to immigrate legally into our country.

 @BD66YW8 from Maine  agreed…1mo1MO

I feel this is completely correct, and additionally, anyone who get's granted citizenship should be allowed to vote aswell.

 @BBG7SRY  from New Jersey  disagreed…3mos3MO

If someone is in America and is not a US citizen, there is no reason for them to vote in the election until they become a citizen and the elections matter to them.

 @BBGLP73 from Arizona  agreed…3mos3MO

I agree, once they become citizens they should be allowed all of the rights granted under the constitution.

 @BBG4PGH from Maine  agreed…3mos3MO

I absolutely agree with this immigrant should not vote in our elections until they have a high understanding on our politics.

 @BBG4PGH from Maine  agreed…3mos3MO

I absolutely agree with this immigrant should not vote in our elections until they have a high understanding on our politics.

 @BBH9L45  from Oklahoma  agreed…3mos3MO

Yes I agree because they are not a citizen and therefore should have no say in who governs the US if they are not an official part of it.

 @BD4RGWDIndependent  from Minnesota  disagreed…1mo1MO

The are not Americans. When you become an American citizen you can exercise your right to vote all you want.

 @BD4X93Z from South Carolina  agreed…1mo1MO

I agree, since they are not American citizens, they should not be allowed to rights of an American citizen. once you become an American citizen with the proper forms, you can use the rights that an American has.

 @BD8Q6PB from Illinois  commented…4wks4W

They are living here and still have to follow the same rules we do, under the same government.

 @BD4XPH7Republican from Kansas  agreed…1mo1MO

The are not Americans. When you become an American citizen you can exercise your right to vote all you want.

 @BD4YRDWRepublican from Delaware  agreed…1mo1MO

No foreigners shouldn’t be able to vote because the aren’t US citizens and they dont know politics in america

 @BD8PG22 from North Carolina  commented…4wks4W

That if you're not an US Citizen and don't have your Citizenship you should not be able to vote because that's not fair and it's very illegal.

 @B98J7NX  from Georgia  disagreed…5mos5MO

I don't believe foreigners should have the right to vote unless they became a full citizen of the United States. Voting for our future leaders should be reserved for Americans, this is our country and outside views should not skew the wishes of citizens. Another problem is that political parties can use this their advantage. By allowing illegal immigrants to vote, a party can simply win for allowing illegal immigrants to stay in our country. That in my opinion is a false election and is a cheap thing to do. I have nothing against foreigners, but their political choices need to be relativ…  Read more

 @B98LWVBNo Labels from Virginia  agreed…5mos5MO

I agree with this statement. If your not legally a part of the United States, how should you be able to vote? In my opinion, a foreignor needs to become a citizen before voting.

 @BD2VVP9  from Georgia  disagreed…1mo1MO

These people are not US citizens and should not be allowed to vote and go against actual citizens. If foreigners are allowed to vote, then it removes power from real citizens, whether they were naturalized or natural-born.

 @BD6R42V from Tennessee  commented…1mo1MO

this is right because they can be paid to vote for other partys and help weigh it to their side

 @B9V6KTL  from Arizona  disagreed…4mos4MO

"Currently residing" does not equal citizenship. Unless you have citizenship, you legally cannot vote.

 @B9VBXBR from South Carolina  agreed…4mos4MO

I agree with this take. Allowing long-term foreign residents a voice in local decisions makes sense—they contribute to the community and are affected by the same policies. Thoughtful points like this are worth sharing.

 @B9V9D85 from North Carolina  agreed…4mos4MO

Agree; foreigners should NOT have the right to vote in our elections UNLESS they're already a fully naturalized citizen while also being a taxpayer themselves. "Currently residing" certainly doesn't mean citizenship.

 @B9V9GSB from Minnesota  agreed…4mos4MO

Citizenship matters--it is a significant factor. Allowing non-citizens to vote dilutes the voice of citizens.

 @B9VM2XC from New Jersey  agreed…4mos4MO

Tha doesn't make sense. You have to be a citizen. You have to show commitment to the country before you can have a say

 @B8QMYRT  from Wyoming  disagreed…6mos6MO

if thier not going to feel the full consiquences for their disisions than they shouldent vote. American citizens should be the ones to vote for american leaders

 @B8R5KZK from Kansas  agreed…6mos6MO

Once gaining citizenship a "foreigner" becomes an American citizen; therefore, giving them the right to vote in the U.S. for U.S. elections.

 @B8R66VF from Texas  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree that on American citizens should be the only ones to vote in elections. Illegal immigrants did not go through the due process to become a citizen and because they have no legal stature in this country due to being a criminal, they should not have a say in how this country is run, especially since this country is not their legal home.

 @B8RPCZY from Ohio  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree if you weren't born as a U.S. citizen then you shouldn't have the right to make discussions for our country.

 @B8RMYZX from Missouri  agreed…6mos6MO

i think its wrong since a public figure could say they will do this for them but only use that to get votes

 @B8KGVXW  from Maryland  disagreed…6mos6MO

I believe foreingers do have the right to vote but under certain circumstances. If they aren't legal, they do not have a right to anything. This isn't anything about race, as I'm hispanic as well. I just don't think any American could go to any other country and demand rights.

 @B8MNBF9 from Rhode Island  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree with this partially. A person who is not an American citizen shouldn't have the right to vote, the same way Americans don't have the right to vote in other countries, whether they are legal or not. Only citizens can vote. If a person is a citizen, by birth or by choice, they get to vote.

 @B8MP9FHRepublican from California  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree if people are legal citizens of the united states they should be able to vote. Nobody should be illegaly voting in any country.

 @B8MF7V4 from Pennsylvania  agreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners in the United States should not have the right to vote. The only people who should have the right to vote are U.S. citizens, and even though there may be people who aren't citizens living in the U.S. for extended periods of time, they should apply for citizenship if they feel so strongly about voting. The constitution says that citizens have the right to vote, and it should stay that way.

 @B8MMLCNRepublican from New Jersey  agreed…6mos6MO

I don't think people who immigrate to this country illegally should have the right to anything whether they are from africa, mexico, canada, or France. It shouldn't matter. I should not be allowed to go to another country and demand rights that are only avalable for natural born citizens. Additionally I think that if we make the way in which you obtain citizenship harder then people who obtain citizenship through those means should be allowed to vote.

 @B8BRDH8Republican  from Iowa  disagreed…7mos7MO

Voting should be limited to those who are officially citizens of America. If someone wants to vote, they must be a citizen. That is the standard.

 @B8HWFXT from New York  disagreed…7mos7MO

What happens in any country affects the world, and we are citizens of Earth first and foremost. If there are to be elections rather than direct decision making, it will be by whoever resides in a region, regardless of citizenship.

 @B8FKTZ2  from Ohio  disagreed…7mos7MO

THE QUESTION ITSELF IS FALSE A "FOREIGNER" IS AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT AND IF YOU ILLEGALLY ENTERED THIS COUNTRY YOU SHOULD BE PROMTLY CHARGED AND DEPORTED.

 @B8FSM9Z from Oklahoma  agreed…7mos7MO

If someone has came into America illegally I think that they should not get the right to vote because they are not a citizen

 @B8G3F8BLibertarian from Texas  agreed…7mos7MO

Why should people that pay taxes have their money go to illegal immigrants when they are paying 0 taxes.

 @B8GG8GK  from Florida  commented…7mos7MO

 @B8G3LY8 from Idaho  disagreed…7mos7MO

I don't agree because those immigrants are the only ones that work and put effort into making the world better, unlike others living off the government.

 @B8TWD4R  from New York  disagreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners are not USA citizens, therefore, they are here for a specific amount of time and reason, and should not have a say in what happens to the country they are not responsible for or are willing to help fund through taxes and other means.

 @B8V3635 from California  agreed…6mos6MO

Yes and no. I believe they should not be allowed to vote but have to pay taxes earned while inside of the USA due to them using our infrastructure while here.

 @B9TBPXQ  from North Carolina  disagreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners that don’t have citizenship are not American. If you are American, you can vote. What is the value of citizenship, if anyone can vote and sway the results of an election?

 @B9Q335B  from North Carolina  disagreed…4mos4MO

Only citizens should vote in U.S. elections because voting is a core sovereign right tied to citizenship. Allowing non-citizens to vote dilutes the influence of citizens, undermines national sovereignty, and could shift policy away from American priorities. Citizenship comes with responsibilities and privileges, and voting is one of the most important of those privileges.

 @B9Q4SBK from Massachusetts  agreed…4mos4MO

This statement is true as us Us citizens should hold the power in OUR society. We were built on representation government and it should stay that way. With allowing others to vote who are not legally from the U.S we our getting rid of this.

 @B9TD8ZB  from Texas  disagreed…4mos4MO

Granting voting rights to non-citizens undermines the very foundation of representative government.
Voting is not just a voice—it’s a responsibility tied to citizenship, allegiance, and long-term accountability. Citizens vote not only for immediate outcomes, but for policies whose consequences they will live with for decades: taxes, national security, foreign policy, and constitutional law. Allowing non-citizens to vote gives political power to individuals who may not share that long-term stake or legal obligation to the nation.

Only LEGAL citizens of the United States should be allowed to vote. If we are letting people who are not U.S. citizens vote we will not have accurate and true elections.

 @BD6T82J from Arkansas  disagreed…1mo1MO

WE'RE ON STOLEN LAND. If they're here, and they're paying taxes, they should have the right to vote. Frankly, how could anyone be illegal on stolen land? The Immigration system is a nightmare, it takes forever to even become a citizen. MAGA Ahh take bruh. Talk to people in your community, learn empathy for more than your neighbours that look like you.

 @BD6SMHX from Ohio  disagreed…1mo1MO

I think people who are forgeiners should be able to vote as long as they are under a visa and have a perminent stay in the United states

I think that it’s important for foreigners to take the citizenship exam and be educated enough to make a vote.

 @B8MM94T from Florida  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree with this comment. It specifically says in the Constitution only legalized US citizens can vote and we should uphold the Constitution and the law.

 @B8MTS6MRepublican from Oregon  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree, people moving to a different country should be required to take a citizenship test and basic history of the country before they are allowed to vote on choices that change the country.

 @B8MHNZ9Constitution from Georgia  agreed…6mos6MO

I sort of agree, but I don't think it is about education when I say they need to be a citizen before they can vote. Foreigners need to be a citizen before they vote.

 @B8MMLCNRepublican from New Jersey  agreed…6mos6MO

I think that it’s important for foreigners to take the citizenship exam and be educated enough to make a vote

 @BD6VVNNDemocrat  from Ohio  disagreed…1mo1MO

Voting is a unique right that is outlined in the Constitution as given to legal citizens. If a foreigner lives within the United States for a long period of time, then I would encourage them to pursue citizenship, not only so that they can vote, but also so that they can receive the other rights and freedoms of citizenship. Pursuing citizenship demonstrates a seriousness in the system that is equivocal to the right to vote.

 @B97W2SP  from California  disagreed…5mos5MO

Foreigners should not be allowed to vote unless they have gained full citizenship, so that they may fully understand the political landscape that will affect them as citizens.

 @B97ZJHK  from Oregon  disagreed…5mos5MO

Citizens don’t even understand their own political landscape. Anyone who lives here should be able to participate in the people’s power.

 @B97Z5HGRepublican  from Arkansas  agreed…5mos5MO

I agree. There is some merit to withholding the right of foreigners to vote for 2-3 generations after they arrive.

 @B8BDMZY  from Tennessee  disagreed…7mos7MO

Voting is both a right and a responsibility of Citizenship. Only citizens should have a full say in the nations future. Those who are not citizens may have divided loyalties or may not fully understand the long term impact of their votes.

 @B8BHC6R from Pennsylvania  agreed…7mos7MO

I fully agree those foriners chose to come to the us and I believe foriners are usally not as informed about our government and they may choose different opinions that could impact us but might not impact them

 @B8BJNRJ from Illinois  agreed…7mos7MO

Fully agree with this statement. If you are not a fully legal US citizen you should not have the right to participate in major nation decision making like voting.

 @B8BJCRP from New Jersey  agreed…7mos7MO

Yes, I agree because citizens are devoted to making America great. Illegals don’t care about America as they are not invested into coming here legally.

 @B8BPD6N  from Connecticut  agreed…7mos7MO

I agree, if you are voting for a country your alliance should be to that country. You should not be allowed to pick and choose, your alliance should be with or without America, not somewhere in the middle.

 @B8WFZKVRepublican  from Minnesota  disagreed…6mos6MO

Those who have not done the given qualifications to become a United States citizen should not be granted the right to vote as a United States citizen.

 @B8WNM29 from Missouri  disagreed…6mos6MO

People who have not met the qualifications to vote should still vote because there shouldn't be qualifications anyway

 @BB7FTN8  from Idaho  disagreed…3mos3MO

If a foreigner has lived in the U.S. long enough to be accustomed to the government and society, which would be around 3-10 years, depending on your view, they should have had enough time to become a citizen, and only citizens, who are full members of the constitutional agreement between people and government should be able to vote, not just people who pay taxes.

 @BB8378N from Texas  agreed…3mos3MO

All U.S. Citizens should vote and it should be mandatary for everyone to go vote. If the foreigners became naturalized citizens then they have the right to vote.

 @BB7YLG9 from Missouri  agreed…3mos3MO

I think that if they have been in the U.S. that long, they should be a citizen. If they are not at that point, it is on them, and they do not have the right to vote.

 @BB826BHRepublican from New York  agreed…3mos3MO

Yes, you aren’t deserving of the right to vote just because you’ve been in the country for many years. Citizens only

 @BB7Z96G from Arizona  disagreed…3mos3MO

Even if someone is not a citizen yet, they may still live in the U.S. for many years, pay taxes, work, and follow the laws. Since government decisions affect their daily lives, it could be unfair that they have no say at all. Also, becoming a citizen can take a long time and cost a lot of money. Because of this, some people believe long-term residents should at least be allowed to vote in local elections.

 @BD8N4ZD  from North Carolina  agreed…4wks4W

People who immigrated to America have lost everything they had back home, they sacrificed a lot of things so I think they deserve to vote since they are Americans now.

 @B8QKF2T  from Minnesota  disagreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners are not required to know our nation's history before becoming U.S. citizens, so they may not be aware of all the risks and benefits of voting someone into office. They were also not born here, so they should not have the same rights as American-born citizens.

 @B8R5KZK from Kansas  agreed…6mos6MO

If they gain citizenship they should have the same rights every other legal American citizen has, they should not be discriminated upon after doing the work to enter our country legally.

 @B8RGJL9  from North Carolina  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree with this, but I am confused about the risks of voting. since voting is such a controversial topic I believe it is important to be able to explain some risks or just back up that part in general. this might be misleading to the group of young Americans who are eligible to vote in the next presidential election. voting is very important and gives everyone a voice in our democracy, I just do not want anyone to doubt the voting in America.

 @B8RPCZY from Ohio  agreed…6mos6MO

I agree with this statement because these are all the right points that I would have made to because one they were not born here and they have no clue of our nation's history.

 @B8R9228 from Georgia  agreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners are not required to know our nation's history before becoming U.S. citizens, so they may not be aware of all the risks and benefits of voting someone into office. They were also not born here, so they should not have the same rights as American-born citizens.

 @BC4BWKC  from Minnesota  disagreed…2mos2MO

They should not be allowed to vote if they are not legal us citizens this people may be biased and not vote on what is best for the country but what is best for there personal goal

 @BC6Q6WQ from Illinois  agreed…2mos2MO

Illegal immigrants should not be able to vote in presidential elections because although they should have a fair chance to become a legal citizen, before they are put through the immigration process their opinions may be biased to to themselves not legal American citizens that worked to get approved for citizenship legally.

 @BDLNFXF  from South Carolina  disagreed…2wks2W

Foreigners here illegally clearly do not respect the establishment of our country enough to have done even the bare minimum immigration processes, so why should they have the right to change it? Suicidal empathy is actively facilitating an invasion across our borders, and the demonization of law enforcement officers is already dangerous enough for everyone involved. Allowing the aliens to vote would degrade our ability to protect our sovereignty almost immediately.

 @BDMFPDP from California  agreed…2wks2W

I believe that these illegal citizens do contribute as they are desperate to live in a place like America, however, like the passage above says, they did not legally come here. If you found $100 on the ground but it had ink all over it, you would be able to see that it is worth nothing after being illegally tampered with.

 @BDMLVP4  from Georgia  agreed…2wks2W

If they didn’t go through the legal channels of obtain citizenship, they should not be able to obtain the right to vote. Allowing illegal immigrants to vote is not fair to the immigrants that follow the correct process. Also illegal immigrant votes would dilute born American citizen votes which is not right

 @BDMJJ6W from Oregon  agreed…2wks2W

its simple there not citizens of the US why should we have outsider foreigners vote for somewhere they don't even live

 @BDMSR6FPeace and Freedom from New York  disagreed…2wks2W

We should be giving them the right to become citizens before outright taking away their right to vote, we’ve done a lot of harm to other countries, so this is a form of repiration. Why do you think they come here?
