If they are not citizens, why should they be able to? Foreign governments can send spies or tons of people to visit certain US cities just to tip the vote.

 @BD62GZ6  from Minnesota  disagreed…1mo1MO

voting should be limited to citizens, since they have a formal, long-term commitment to the country. Citizenship sets a clear standard, avoids confusion about who qualifies, and ensures that decisions about national policies are made by those officially part of the political community

 @BBG7SRY  from New Jersey  disagreed…3mos3MO

If someone is in America and is not a US citizen, there is no reason for them to vote in the election until they become a citizen and the elections matter to them.

 @BD4RGWDIndependent  from Minnesota  disagreed…1mo1MO

The are not Americans. When you become an American citizen you can exercise your right to vote all you want.

 @B98J7NX  from Georgia  disagreed…5mos5MO

I don't believe foreigners should have the right to vote unless they became a full citizen of the United States. Voting for our future leaders should be reserved for Americans, this is our country and outside views should not skew the wishes of citizens. Another problem is that political parties can use this their advantage. By allowing illegal immigrants to vote, a party can simply win for allowing illegal immigrants to stay in our country. That in my opinion is a false election and is a cheap thing to do. I have nothing against foreigners, but their political choices need to be relativ…  Read more

 @BD2VVP9  from Georgia  disagreed…1mo1MO

These people are not US citizens and should not be allowed to vote and go against actual citizens. If foreigners are allowed to vote, then it removes power from real citizens, whether they were naturalized or natural-born.

 @B9V6KTL  from Arizona  disagreed…4mos4MO

"Currently residing" does not equal citizenship. Unless you have citizenship, you legally cannot vote.

 @B8QMYRT  from Wyoming  disagreed…6mos6MO

if thier not going to feel the full consiquences for their disisions than they shouldent vote. American citizens should be the ones to vote for american leaders

 @B8KGVXW  from Maryland  disagreed…6mos6MO

I believe foreingers do have the right to vote but under certain circumstances. If they aren't legal, they do not have a right to anything. This isn't anything about race, as I'm hispanic as well. I just don't think any American could go to any other country and demand rights.

 @B8BRDH8Republican  from Iowa  disagreed…7mos7MO

Voting should be limited to those who are officially citizens of America. If someone wants to vote, they must be a citizen. That is the standard.

 @B8FKTZ2  from Ohio  disagreed…7mos7MO

THE QUESTION ITSELF IS FALSE A "FOREIGNER" IS AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT AND IF YOU ILLEGALLY ENTERED THIS COUNTRY YOU SHOULD BE PROMTLY CHARGED AND DEPORTED.

 @B8TWD4R  from New York  disagreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners are not USA citizens, therefore, they are here for a specific amount of time and reason, and should not have a say in what happens to the country they are not responsible for or are willing to help fund through taxes and other means.

 @B9TBPXQ  from North Carolina  disagreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners that don’t have citizenship are not American. If you are American, you can vote. What is the value of citizenship, if anyone can vote and sway the results of an election?

 @B9Q335B  from North Carolina  disagreed…4mos4MO

Only citizens should vote in U.S. elections because voting is a core sovereign right tied to citizenship. Allowing non-citizens to vote dilutes the influence of citizens, undermines national sovereignty, and could shift policy away from American priorities. Citizenship comes with responsibilities and privileges, and voting is one of the most important of those privileges.

 @B9TD8ZB  from Texas  disagreed…4mos4MO

Granting voting rights to non-citizens undermines the very foundation of representative government.
Voting is not just a voice—it’s a responsibility tied to citizenship, allegiance, and long-term accountability. Citizens vote not only for immediate outcomes, but for policies whose consequences they will live with for decades: taxes, national security, foreign policy, and constitutional law. Allowing non-citizens to vote gives political power to individuals who may not share that long-term stake or legal obligation to the nation.
A nation has the right—and responsibility&mdas…  Read more

Only LEGAL citizens of the United States should be allowed to vote. If we are letting people who are not U.S. citizens vote we will not have accurate and true elections.

 @B8LBDNX  from Florida  disagreed…6mos6MO

I think that it’s important for foreigners to take the citizenship exam and be educated enough to make a vote.

 @BD6VVNNDemocrat  from Ohio  disagreed…1mo1MO

Voting is a unique right that is outlined in the Constitution as given to legal citizens. If a foreigner lives within the United States for a long period of time, then I would encourage them to pursue citizenship, not only so that they can vote, but also so that they can receive the other rights and freedoms of citizenship. Pursuing citizenship demonstrates a seriousness in the system that is equivocal to the right to vote.

 @B97W2SP  from California  disagreed…5mos5MO

Foreigners should not be allowed to vote unless they have gained full citizenship, so that they may fully understand the political landscape that will affect them as citizens.

 @B8BDMZY  from Tennessee  disagreed…7mos7MO

Voting is both a right and a responsibility of Citizenship. Only citizens should have a full say in the nations future. Those who are not citizens may have divided loyalties or may not fully understand the long term impact of their votes.

 @B8WFZKVRepublican  from Minnesota  disagreed…6mos6MO

Those who have not done the given qualifications to become a United States citizen should not be granted the right to vote as a United States citizen.

 @BB7FTN8  from Idaho  disagreed…3mos3MO

If a foreigner has lived in the U.S. long enough to be accustomed to the government and society, which would be around 3-10 years, depending on your view, they should have had enough time to become a citizen, and only citizens, who are full members of the constitutional agreement between people and government should be able to vote, not just people who pay taxes.

 @B8QKF2T  from Minnesota  disagreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners are not required to know our nation's history before becoming U.S. citizens, so they may not be aware of all the risks and benefits of voting someone into office. They were also not born here, so they should not have the same rights as American-born citizens.

 @BC4BWKC  from Minnesota  disagreed…2mos2MO

They should not be allowed to vote if they are not legal us citizens this people may be biased and not vote on what is best for the country but what is best for there personal goal

 @BDLNFXF  from South Carolina  disagreed…2wks2W

Foreigners here illegally clearly do not respect the establishment of our country enough to have done even the bare minimum immigration processes, so why should they have the right to change it? Suicidal empathy is actively facilitating an invasion across our borders, and the demonization of law enforcement officers is already dangerous enough for everyone involved. Allowing the aliens to vote would degrade our ability to protect our sovereignty almost immediately.

 @B99FZPD  from Illinois  disagreed…5mos5MO

If a foreigner has illegally came into our country, they should not hold the right to have an influence in our countrys politcal leaders.

 @B8GNQ6X  from Texas  disagreed…7mos7MO

In every single other country across the globe that has closed borders, if you enter illegally, you will be detained and deported. Why the people in America suddenly have a problem with it when it happens over here is a question beyond me. I believe giving illegal immigrants rights is unconstitutional and goes against the very foundation f America. You committed a crime, why should you have ANY stance here.

 @BB9CPR6  from Texas  disagreed…3mos3MO

No one should be allowed to vote that isn't a citizen of the United States and that has the correct identification documents to do so.

 @B8SMFHS  from West Virginia  disagreed…6mos6MO

Voting is usually limited to citizens because they are the ones with long-term legal ties and responsibilities to the country. Allowing non-citizens to vote could weaken the meaning of citizenship and let people who may not stay long-term influence major national decisions.

 @B962JM7Libertarian  from California  disagreed…5mos5MO

People that aren’t citizens of the country they are trying to vote in shouldn’t be able to vote in that country and should instead vote in their own country.

 @BD8YJLNRepublican from West Virginia  disagreed…4wks4W

The word foreigner should explain it itself. If you are not a us citizen you should not get to vote and effect the actual opinions of the us citizens

 @B9FZHVW  from California  disagreed…5mos5MO

They aren't a citizen so they don't deal with our government the same way a citizen would. They also don't pay taxes to OUR government so why would they be able to vote?

 @B8CHZ4L  from Utah  disagreed…7mos7MO

They are foreigners, they don’t belong to this country and therefore should not be able to dictate foreign (US) policies.

 @B95C3HJ  from Texas  disagreed…5mos5MO

They have not earned it. They are not citizens and they are not subject to US jurisdiction. They are foreigners with no status in the US.

 @BBHMN8X  from Texas  disagreed…3mos3MO

Per the constitution the right to vote is reserved for US citizens only, so no foreigners should be allowed to vote until they become naturalized citizens.

 @BDKQ8WX  from South Carolina  disagreed…2wks2W

No, voting should be strictly restricted to U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents (Green Card holders), and completely banned for undocumented immigrants.

 @BCBYX5G  from Texas  disagreed…2mos2MO

They are not citizens of the united states and it should be a requirement to have citizenship to vote.

 @BCXY67V  from Rhode Island  disagreed…1mo1MO

It will give foreigners the ability to interfere with U.S. elections when they are not a citizen, yet. Not every foreigner has good intentions. This is why every non-U.S. citizen should have all paperwork thoroughly checked as well as living and household and health status.

 @B87QYWQ  from South Dakota  disagreed…7mos7MO

If you are not an established member of a group, you should not have the right to vote on things that affect the said group.

 @BDM88HQ  from Michigan  disagreed…2wks2W

Foreign voters don't know what is best for the country because they haven't been in the country long enough to know anything.

 @B8MYNSL  from Florida  disagreed…6mos6MO

This could easily be abused by foreign governments to attempt to swing elections in their favor, requiring citizenship for voting rights helps ensure that those who desire to vote have at least gone through the legal process and have an understanding of our country as it is now and its history.

 @BDL35KDDemocrat  from New York  disagreed…2wks2W

Foreigners currently residing in the United States should not have the right to vote, because they may have the interests of their home country over those of the United States.

 @B946SBP  from Tennessee  disagreed…5mos5MO

Voting is a sovereign right tied to citizenship, which carries responsibilities and legal obligations; granting it to non-citizens undermines the principle that those shaping our laws should be fully invested members of the political community.

 @B9JXGP9Democrat  from Washington  disagreed…5mos5MO

Foreigners should only be allowed to vote if they went through the process of becoming a US citizen.

 @BB8VWDL  from Kansas  disagreed…3mos3MO

Citizenship standards are important. If you are born in the US, you are a citizen. Otherwise, people must go through the system. Although I do think the system should be changed and be more efficient

 @BDBR66N  from Mississippi  disagreed…3wks3W

why should they get a vote if they are illegal aliens they came here with no documentation they should get sent back to where they came from in the most humane way possible.

 @BBV476M  from North Carolina  disagreed…3mos3MO

There illegal why should they vote if they cant buy a house or car so why should they vote no green card no voting

 @BBWKRCVIndependent  from Texas  disagreed…3mos3MO

The foreigners are just that foreigners. you wouldn't let someone make decisions on matters that don't concern them because their opinion is irrelevant.

 @BBF97RVDemocrat  from Texas  disagreed…3mos3MO

I believe if you are from another country, but you currently reside in the U.S and are a legal citizen or have a status to live here, you should be able to vote. Everything our government does affects how we live our day-to-day lives. So if it affects you, you should be able to vote instead of depending on others to come through for you.

 @B8P2TFC  from Georgia  disagreed…6mos6MO

I don't think Illegal immigrants should vote. They are not U.S. Citizens and I think it is unfair to the Legal immigrants who worked hard to get here.

 @BBF4B64  from Pennsylvania  disagreed…3mos3MO

Is the foreigner a civilian of the United States? If they are citizens, then they should have the right to vote. Elections are for the people of an area who live in the area and wish the best for said area. If an individual is not devoted to their area, like becoming a citizen requires, then they should not be allowed to have a voice in voting regarding their area.

 @BB6R77Z  from Ohio  disagreed…3mos3MO

Well define what you mean by foreigners, are they here on a visa, or here illegally. If here illegally, why should they have the same rights as citizens, no other countries do that. Also, this can rig elections. Stupid question.

 @B8PMK24Constitution  from New York  disagreed…6mos6MO

The forefathers intended to have a society of men with a vested interest in our country vote. If you don’t have any stake in this country you should not be able to vote.

 @B92BGTRIndependence  from Pennsylvania  disagreed…5mos5MO

Foreigners are not left to live with the decisions of their vote: they're not registered citizens, therefore they exist consequence-free of any involvement they've had in their political participation within the United States. I consider this unjust; unfair to all voters and taxpayers.

 @BBF4LYW  from California  disagreed…3mos3MO

the declaration of independence specifically cites that we cannot let any foreign nation inflict their will on our sovereignty.

 @BC6LK3G  from Maryland  disagreed…2mos2MO

Foreigners are not American citizens. American women, who were always citizens of the US, had to fight to be able to vote with fellow citizens simply because they were females. Elizabeth Cady Stanton made the argument in one of her speeches that because the US Constitution said one who was a United States citizen could vote, women were included.
To delay voting rights to women in America for decades, and then to quickly offer them to Foreigners is hypocritical.

 @BBKCYQD from Alabama  disagreed…3mos3MO

Voting should be restricted to citizens in good standing only. I oppose undocumented immigrants being able to vote, as well as felons

 @BD9RDHSTaxpayers  from Indiana  disagreed…4wks4W

It makes sense to give them constitutional rights to protect them, but they shouldn't be able to vote as they presumably have no stake in this land.

 @B9RQ2GZNo Labels  from North Carolina  disagreed…4mos4MO

I can understand whare someone who said yes is coming from, but I believe someone who is a native or spent a significant amount of time in the country should be able to vote, cause they have been around the climate of the country.

 @BCX8WFY  from Arizona  disagreed…1mo1MO

No sir only persons who were born here should have the right to vote and only allow that power to citizens.

 @9GYLMYJ  from North Carolina  disagreed…3yrs3Y

If you are not a citizen then why do you get the same rights, that would be like if we went over to a club we are not involved in and started trying to tell them what to do.

 @BD9TBGZ from Texas  disagreed…4wks4W

Only citizens who were either born in America or lived here long enough to be naturalized as a citizen truly understand the issues that the nation currently faces.

 @Mitchell-S.  from Texas  disagreed…7mos7MO

Only those who have a vested interest in the long-term outcome of our nation should be allowed a vote. Those who are not citizens, and therefore not totally committed to this country, should not get a vote.

 Removed by authordisagreed…3wks3W

We dont know if they will stay so having people that are not US citizens vote will throw the voting out of place and if they aren’t willing to get their citizenship do they even really care.

 @B8ML8HG from Nevada  disagreed…6mos6MO

Illegal immigrants, who are not citizens should not have the right to vote. They are not citizens of the country and therefor should not have the right to vote on thing that directly affect citizens of the country.

 @BDBJX4W  from North Carolina  disagreed…3wks3W

They should not be able to vote because you can't run for president if you're not a US citizen, so why should you be able to vote for the president when you're not a US citizen.

 @9FCFS7WRepublican from Alabama  disagreed…3yrs3Y

They are not citizens they have no right to choose our government or make decisions about our country.

 @BBKZW3PIndependent from New York  disagreed…3mos3MO

Why should someone who is not from this country have the right to vote unless they are here legally. If you are not here correctly why should you be able to vote for someone.

 @BD5W7L4Republican from South Carolina  disagreed…1mo1MO

non tax payers and people who haven't came here legally have no right to be able to vote, they will only vote for what is better for the illegals not what is better for the true American tax payers

 @BDQZ5QCIndependent  from Texas  disagreed…7 days7D

Why should foreigners who have no interest in our culture or shared values with us, be able to vote on decisions that affect OUR lives?

 @B9VLXQV  from California  disagreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners are not invested in the United States nor are they meant to live here. If someone is voting for the sake of benefits and not getting kicked out they don't deserve to vote as they are illegal and undocumented anyways.

 @B87GK6WRepublican  from Colorado  disagreed…7mos7MO

Your stupid if you let a bunch of immigrants vote in our elections they will just elect a dictator and then our country is secured you dumb liberal

 @B8XDR3GRepublican from Texas  disagreed…6mos6MO

Voting should remain a right that comes with legal citizenship. Becoming a citizen isn’t just about living somewhere; it’s about making a real, long-term commitment to the country, its laws, its values, and its direction. It often involves responsibilities like pledging loyalty to the constitution, taking on civic duties, or even serving the country in different ways. Giving voting rights to people who haven’t taken that step might weaken the sense of shared commitment that citizenship represents. People who haven’t formally tied their future to the country or who might only be staying temporarily could end up helping decide policies that will affect citizens for generations.

 @9FBR9FF from California  disagreed…3yrs3Y

Why would a non-citizen be able to decide what goes on in a country that they aren't even supposed to be in, since they didn't come the legal way.

 @9F8YB4S from Rhode Island  disagreed…3yrs3Y

if they are not citizens of the united states, they should not be able to exercise the rights that are unique to citizens

 @B9YTCBC from Pennsylvania  disagreed…4mos4MO

They aren't US citizens, so why should they be making decisions for us, if the decision isn't theirs to make!?!?!?!?

 @BBNYYP5 from Michigan  disagreed…3mos3MO

People who are not citizens of the United States should not be able to vote for the country's leader.

 @BD7RNBD  from Colorado  disagreed…4wks4W

Foreigners do not live in the United States and thus should not have the right to vote in elections, especially considering foreigners do not pay taxes.

 @9FBG2WW from South Carolina  disagreed…3yrs3Y

Foreigners have no right to elect an American President unless they are legal and present a valid voter I.D. If not, then one party will appeal more towards the foreigners to turn them into voters to win against the opposing party, thus making the beautiful system of American democracy ultimately useless.

 @BBW4DLR from Georgia  disagreed…3mos3MO

why would foreigners be able to vote if they are not citizens. would you allow a stranger to decide what's for dinner in your house

 @B9V2H93 from Florida  disagreed…4mos4MO

Pretty self explanatory. Why would a non citizen be allowed to dictate how a country they dont legally live in is allowed to be run? This is the equivalent of being able to decide on how a house is ran in which you dont live in and pay rent/mortgage to. This is a privilege that should only be exercised by American citizens.

 @B96DNCW from Pennsylvania  disagreed…5mos5MO

Rights, privileges, and immunities belong only to US citizens, and therefore, voting should only apply to citizens.

 @B9SKBYK from Illinois  disagreed…4mos4MO

They aren't native to our country and unless they have citizenship they don't deserve the right to vote for who the leader of a country they don't belong in is.

 @9F9S768 from Arizona  disagreed…3yrs3Y

Until they can pass a citizenship test to demonstrate their knowledge of US history and politics, foreigners are not ready to make decisions on behalf of US citizens. Furthermore, a nation cannot be governed by outsiders. We do not expect to have a say in the laws and governance of other nations. It's preposterous for a non citizen to vote.

 @BB53S68 from Maryland  disagreed…4mos4MO

NO! they are in this country illegally and ultimately don't deserve rights to vote unless they go through the paperwork.

 @BBD5372 from South Dakota  disagreed…3mos3MO

If they are not citizens of the United States, they have no right to vote for the United States offices.

 @B988Z2G from Utah  disagreed…5mos5MO

U.S. Citizens only should be allowed to vote. Non-Citizens do not have any stake in our government.

 @B8RRCPN from Arizona  disagreed…6mos6MO

If someone isn't a legal citizen of The United States, they legally do not have citizenship which comes with the right to vote and other amenities. If they aren't citizens, they shouldn't get the same rights as immigrants that have come to America legally and worked hard to get a green card.

 @B8DL5KK from Ohio  disagreed…7mos7MO

They do not have pure allegiance to the USA. It could be devastating to our country if people that do not have the best interests of our country to be able to vote.

 @BDQJGF5 from Oregon  disagreed…1wk1W

They are FOREIGNERS. They have no right to vote! Just like we have no right to vote in ANY other country.

 @B8FM47ZRepublican from Alabama  disagreed…7mos7MO

Why should someone that is unknown to the government and can avoid federal taxes be allowed to have a say in the political choices of America. They are not always bad people but there is a specific way into coming into a country that most other countries require people to follow. It is a long process but it's long so people can do it the right way.

 @B8DZ8H2Independent from Iowa  disagreed…7mos7MO

They do not live in the US nor will they reside in the US for those years of which in the canidate they vote for makes choices for people like us, people who live in the US.

 @BD9BL2N from California  disagreed…4wks4W

Voting is fundamentally tied to citizenship because it represents full membership in a political community. Citizens are bound by long-term obligations—such as taxes, laws, and potentially military service—and are permanently affected by the outcomes of elections. Foreigners, especially non-permanent residents, may not share the same long-term stake in the country’s future. Allowing them to vote could dilute the voice of citizens who bear the enduring consequences of political decisions.

 @BC83CYP from Michigan  disagreed…2mos2MO

I believe that foreigners should not have the right to vote if they have any overstay visa or a new visa they are not citizens.

 @BBL2XQR from Texas  disagreed…3mos3MO

Why are we giving people who aren’t legal citizens yet the same voting power as someone who has lived their entire life in the US. And if they turn out to be illegal immigrants it is a million times worst cause even if they hadn’t done anything illegal in their original homeland or the US, they still crossed the border illegally. Me, a legal American citizen who has followed all of the laws in this country, gets the same amount of voting power as an illegal alien. Why do we even have laws if the government can just pick and choose which apply to people. If I was to illegal cross the border into Canada they would probably deport me so why did Biden let 10 million of them in here.

 @BB33S5X from Kansas  disagreed…4mos4MO

It's ridiculous for foreigners to vote in your elections. There is not a country in the world that allows foreigners to come onto their soil and vote for their elections. It's the most ridiculous question I've ever heard. There is no other answer

 @BD6KW39 from Ohio  disagreed…1mo1MO

If you are not a citizen of the US, you should not be able to participate in the politics that affect everyone, not including yourself.

 @BC8YFXR from North Carolina  disagreed…2mos2MO

The strongest argument against allowing foreigners to vote is that voting is a right tied to citizenship. Citizens have a long-term legal and political commitment to the country, including responsibilities like paying taxes and following its laws fully. Allowing non-citizens to vote could weaken the meaning of citizenship and give political influence to people who may not have permanent ties or full accountability to the country.

 @BBFQDDJ from Ohio  disagreed…3mos3MO

If they are not legal citizens, they should have no say in how legal citizens have to live. its not their country. Though if they are legal, let them.

 @B8WQRR8Peace and Freedom from Kansas  disagreed…6mos6MO

Voting is an exclusive right and a civic responsibility tied directly to the legal status of citizenship.
