People that aren’t citizens of the country they are trying to vote in shouldn’t be able to vote in that country and should instead vote in their own country.

I’m going to move into subsidized Minnesota housing, call my 15 Hungarian uncles to come over for thanksgiving, eat some Turk, Get their Drivers Licenses, Stay at my house until Election Day and vote for our preferred Candidates!

When non-citizens (criminals, they entered illegally by definition) can vote elections mean nothing.

Foreigners living within the United States are much less likely than citizens and long-term residents to actually care about the long-term well-being of the United States. They would likely vote in people that don't have America's best interests at heart. In addition, the right to vote is guaranteed to citizens of the United States, not everyone who happens to be in the country.

No because they are not citizens and thus are not who the government on all levels should represent.

I can't just move to France and demand that my vote should count in their elections and that I should have a right to vote in their elections. I am a newcomer to their country, do not fully understand their values, culture, and way of life. Now if I Have lived there for years and filed for French citizenship The right way, I would then have a better understanding for how the democratic process works in their country. Why would it be any different for foreigners coming to America?

The government is of, by, and for the people of the United States. Citizens of other nations have no right to participation in choosing the leaders of this country. The system was designed to prevent colonizing powers like Britain and France from installing their own candidates, and while that threat is no longer apparent, the principle behind remains valid.

Foreigners without residency are often not living in America for long. Why should they be given the power to make decisions that will affect long term citizens when they do not have to deal with the consequences.

 @BCRW5MXLibertarian from Illinois  agreed…2mos2MO

Citizens should be knowledgeable to our country and they should be a U.S citizen to represent the U.S. I fully support all races and genders to voting but I also believe that if we have none citizens voting then we will techincally have other countries voting for our government.

 @BBVTWSHLibertarian from Tennessee  disagreed…3mos3MO

They are not Americans and can be easily swayed by the government. Therefore they should have to go through the process of becoming a citizen before voting

 @BDQS258Libertarian from Wisconsin  disagreed…7 days7D

We already have foreign governments meddling in our elections through funding. The last thing we need is for certain countries to conveniently send people over just to sway elections.

 @B9SVCSQLibertarian from California  disagreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners who haven't lived in the US long enough won't understand the American way of life, and could end up voting for policies that turn the US into the country they just came from. However, I believed every citizen has the right to vote.

 @B8Z5DNMLibertarian from Texas  disagreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners may vote with the best interest of their homeland in mind as opposed to the best interest of the United States. There is nothing wrong with foreigners - this nation is largely sustained by foreign immigration - but non-citizens should not be allowed to vote. This is common sense.

 @BD87XS3Libertarian from Arizona  disagreed…4wks4W

Constitutional rights are granted to US citizens. If you're not a citizen, you don't have our rights. That's not to say they shouldn't be treated with dignity and respect. Also, if you want the constitution to apply to illegal immigrants, it must be applied in full. This includes the right to bear arms.
