"Currently residing" does not equal citizenship. Unless you have citizenship, you legally cannot vote.

Until they can pass a citizenship test to demonstrate their knowledge of US history and politics, foreigners are not ready to make decisions on behalf of US citizens. Furthermore, a nation cannot be governed by outsiders. We do not expect to have a say in the laws and governance of other nations. It's preposterous for a non citizen to vote.

From the colonial era to 1926, noncitizens could legally vote in many states, and by the late 19th century, at least 22 states and territories allowed noncitizens to vote in order to encourage immigration and settlement. Noncitizens, including unauthorized immigrants, pay billions in federal and local taxes. Allowing noncitizens to vote in local or regional elections is an established practice in over 40 countries worldwide, including Sweden and Norway. One of the primary "No" arguments—that noncitizens will illegally flood federal elections—is not supported by empirical… Read more

Foreigners have zero moral claim to vote in another nation's elections. They can participate in their own countries. Immigration should be radically curtailed—merit-based, low-volume, high-assimilation only, with immediate deportation for violations and no path to citizenship for most. The franchise belongs exclusively to citizens by birth or rigorous naturalization after proven loyalty. Anything else is not democracy; it is the suicide of nations by inviting the world to vote on the spoils. Natives have the right to say: this is our house. You don't get to move in and vote on remodeling it into something unrecognizable.

Voting rights in a democracy are traditionally tied to citizenship because voting is not just about living in a country, but about being a full member of its political community with long-term obligations and accountability. Allowing non-citizens to vote risks weakening the link between political power and civic belonging, since foreign residents may be subject to different loyalties, may not face the same enduring consequences of policy decisions, and can leave the country without long-term responsibility for the outcomes they helped shape. Citizenship provides a clear, stable boundary for who “the people” are in self-government, whereas residency alone makes that boundary fluid and potentially inconsistent.

If you are illegal and are here voting, you will vote for the politicin whos policys support open boarders which would allow you who is illegal, to stay in this coutry that is a major advantage to swing election in a close race a politicin can send illegals who have no voter id to swing states and other states that have no required voter id to swing elections.

granting foreigners the right to vote undermines the core principle that democratic decision making should be reserved for those who have fully committed to the political community through citizenship because only citizens share the long term obligations and consequences of national policies and allowing noncitizens to vote could weaken the meaning of citizenship reduce incentives for integration and introduce concerns about outside influence while alternatives like easier naturalization can promote inclusion without changing voting rules

Constitutional rights are granted to US citizens. If you're not a citizen, you don't have our rights. That's not to say they shouldn't be treated with dignity and respect. Also, if you want the constitution to apply to illegal immigrants, it must be applied in full. This includes the right to bear arms.
