People without a permanent presence in and official ties to the United States should not be given equal right to make decisions over future policy as those who are permanent citizens within the country, as they are less of a stakeholder and don't have the same basic right to steer the country's future as those who are citizens of it.

It makes no sense to have people that aren't citizens voting them might not have our countrys interest first.

If illegal immigrants are literally paying to live in America, I feel there should be at least SOME things they’re allowed to do, such as voting.

if you are not a citizen of this country you have absolutely no right at all to have an effect on who is the leader of a country you are not even a part of

When non-citizens (criminals, they entered illegally by definition) can vote elections mean nothing.

No taxation or governance without representation. You see, long-term foreign residents are subject to policy decisions, pay taxes, abide by the law, and utilize public services. They are controlled without a voice so if they are denied the right to vote, this is exactly the democratic evil that voting is supposed to prevent. Not increase.

If someone isn't a legal citizen of the U.S and doesn't live here full time then why should they get to decide who our president is

 @BD6MC58Independent from Connecticut  disagreed…1mo1MO

As long as they are legal foreigners, they can completely vote because they are American citizens. If they are illegal there is no reason they should be allowed to vote, if they broke into a country illegally they shouldn't be allowed to choose who runs it.

They could be less knowledged about our country than born Americans because they have been here longer

If you moved to France and the leader of France said you can’t vote, would you still want to live there?

 @B9XRR3Z from Connecticut  agreed…4mos4MO

i believe in this because there is no such thing as an illegal human and all humans that live in the US should vote

 @B9VQQLGNo Labels from Connecticut  disagreed…4mos4MO

Yes, foreigners should be able to vote in the United States because they are still living in the United States. That a person is still under the control of the US government if they are living in the country, even if they are not a citizen so they have a right to be able to use their voice to speak up for what they need. Just because someone is not a citizen does not mean they are under the government‘s control.

 @BDT37LLNo Labels from Connecticut  disagreed…2 days2D

no, simply because they aren't truly citizens and will vote for the situation that best benefits them, throwing off political balance
