Foreigners are also human beings with rights, and even though they reside in a country that is not their own, they too should have the right to vote, given that—at times—such decisions can harm or benefit these very individuals.

 @BD7GYBW from Florida  disagreed…4wks4W

They are foreigners, they are not active citizens of the U.S. Other countries's citizens shouldn't be making the decisions for America.

 @BD7HFZB from South Dakota  agreed…4wks4W

I mean if they have a proper reason to be here and most poeple face more deadly things from maybe where they came from.

 @BD7HGG7  from Arizona  agreed…4wks4W

I do concur. For non-Americans in America to escape the horrors of home, they deserve just as much rights as everybody else.

 @BD7GR99Democrat from Florida  agreed…4wks4W

I do agree with this comment because once you are in the U.S, you are one of us decide with us for the right of the people.

 @B8CHZ4L  from Utah  disagreed…7mos7MO

They are foreigners, they don’t belong to this country and therefore should not be able to dictate foreign (US) policies.

 @B8CTRF7 from Idaho  agreed…7mos7MO

If someone breaks into your house, illegally, they do not belong there. If they come through legally, then its like having a guest. If someone breaks in illegally, they should have no say in American decisions. Leave that to Americans. If you want to come in the country, come in legally.

 @B9N83Q3  from Utah  agreed…4mos4MO

Non-citizens voted in U.S. elections for over 150 years. From the founding until the early 1900s, 22 states and federal territories allowed it to encourage settlement. It was part of the American political tradition. Today, over 45 countries permit some form of non-citizen voting. All European Union members allow other EU nationals to vote in local elections. Countries like Sweden, Norway, and New Zealand extend this right to all foreign residents after short residency periods (often 3 years). The push is primarily for local elections (school boards, city councils), where policies directly…  Read more

If a foreigner is In the US they can influence the election of a country they don't belong to, they don't have a strong horse in the race.

 @B988Z2G from Utah  disagreed…5mos5MO

U.S. Citizens only should be allowed to vote. Non-Citizens do not have any stake in our government.

 @BD55NCH from Utah  disagreed…1mo1MO

Foreigners should vote when they have become a citizen. It doesn;t matter if they are not born in the land they are still able to vote!

 @B8Y9LMV from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

Only citizens should be able to vote. Unfortunately, a lot of foreigners living in the U.S. are illegal immigrants, and they shouldn't be able to vote if they couldn't go through the process of coming here illegally. Would you let someone who broke into your house make decisions on what you had in your house?

 @BBFW6P4Republican from Utah  disagreed…3mos3MO

Why would we want to allow illegal immigrants to vote? Obviously they would vote for the party that isn't enforcing immigration laws, the democratic party, and would always vote for them because they know that the Democratic party doesn't uphold the law.

 @B8QMTW9 from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners are not citizens, so they do not deserve to have a say on our country's voting administration. There are legal ways to immigrate, it's America first, illegal immigrants do NOT get to make changes when they aren't even citizens.

 @BDBL48W from Utah  disagreed…3wks3W

They are not United States Citizens so why should they be able to vote on the problems of the United States.

 @B8RS4CZ from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners are coming from destroyed countries, and they are destroyed for a reason. we don't need them to bring their rbad ideas into our political system like socialism or communism cause it didn't work over their why would it work over here

 @BBJ5XKD from Utah  disagreed…3mos3MO

A foreigner regardless of whether or not they are currently residing in the US is still a foreigner and should not be able to vote. The constitution gives all citizens the right to vote not all foreigners the right to vote. The citizens are the ones paying the taxes and are the ones who deserve to decide how and where their money is spent. If we give foreigners the right to vote the clear line in the voting process becomes blurred, potentially leading to other lines becoming blurred.

 @B8TQ2FX from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

They may not be America first. They are possibly criminals and voting for their own benefits, damaging the country and putting many in danger.

 @B8LH7YHNo Labels from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

If you are not a citizen you do not have the right to vote as you have no affiliation with the country

 @B9RQRZZ from Utah  disagreed…4mos4MO

People who are not citizens of the US should not be allowed to vote for anything as they are not citizens therefore it is not their right to vote for US presidents or officials

 @B8DH6BM from Utah  disagreed…7mos7MO

Only U.S. Citizens should be allowed to vote as outlined in the Constitution. Immigrants can become U.S. Citizens if they would like to participate.

 @BD4MXZR from Utah  disagreed…1mo1MO

If they are illegal, they shouldn't be able to vote. messes with our true voting system and screws with who gets elected

 @B8RZH6K from Utah  agreed…6mos6MO

To be a legal american citizen you need to be 18 years of age, be a lawful permanent resident for 5 years or more, and meet certain requirements to demonstrate good morals. To legally vote in america you have to be 18, no criminal record, and fit the requirements. of an American citizen. The only factors between these two statements are you need to be a legal american citizen but I say if they have been in america for longer than five years and show no signs of harm to the community they can be considered legal in america to vote.

 @B8L74SB from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

They are not of this country, not citizens, and therefore to not qualify to submit an action within our republic.

 @BD8XBD3 from Utah  disagreed…4wks4W

Foreigners residing in the US should be allowed to vote if they are paying taxes, additionally if they are paying taxes they should get a chance at citizenship.

 @BD6PRFV from Utah  disagreed…1mo1MO

Only U.S. Citizens should have the right to vote on how the U.S. is controlled. I do not think that if all of Canada came and visited for voting day that they should be able to vote that day.

 @B8GKHR6 from Utah  disagreed…7mos7MO

If they are illegal then they shouldn't vote if they aren't they by all means you came in here the legal way

 @BDJ5JJD from Utah  agreed…3wks3W

More than 140 countries allow non-citizens to vote in some form, usually in local elections.
Non-citizens often work, pay taxes, and live for years in a country, so they are affected by its laws. In some cases, allowing voting rights is linked to higher civic participation and better integration into society.

 @BCNZTR3 from Utah  disagreed…2mos2MO

They are not natural citizens, and should not have a say it what our government does. If they don’t like it they can go somewhere else, don’t make my country like the one you left. If you want benefits and rights, do the work and become a citizen and assimilate.

 @B9MD3FC from Utah  disagreed…4mos4MO

American citizens should elect American leaders, I cant nor do i want to go to Mexico and vote in their elections because it's not my country and i haven't earned the right to elect their leaders.

 @B8ZJKN5 from Utah  agreed…6mos6MO

I just think that anyone who is living in U.S. territory should have a say as to who they want to run their country.

 @BBHR9GL from Utah  agreed…3mos3MO

I think if they are legal or in the process of being legal they should have the right to vote but if they are criminals and or only here illegally they shouldn't vote.

 @BD3P8YV from Utah  disagreed…1mo1MO

No, they should not because they came here without permission. But can be given the chance to gain rights by becoming American.

 @B8LGQ29 from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

America first not illegal aliens. Aliens don’t contribute to society so they shouldn’t have a choice in politics

 @BD8TK5N from Utah  disagreed…4wks4W

If they're not paying taxes they shouldn't be able to decide things over people who are paying taxes.

 @BD6PQBT from Utah  disagreed…1mo1MO

They are not citizens and are illegal and in a somewhat rascist way I would leave this country before they got the right to vote. Because of how much I dont like them.

 @BCX9CK3 from Utah  disagreed…1mo1MO

they should only be able to vote as long as they have lived in the united states states for at least five year

 @BCBGMW9 from Utah  disagreed…2mos2MO

Elections determine who is a member of the political community, not just who lives there, so voting should only be available to citizens. Laws can affect foreigners, but citizenship entails full political membership and formal allegiance, which noncitizens do not have. Therefore, the strongest argument against granting noncitizens the right to vote is that they shouldn't be able to influence a country's government just because they live there.

 @BC628DG from Utah  disagreed…2mos2MO

They committed a crime illegally coming into our country, they shouldn't decide who is next president is

 @B9VMFT6Women’s Equality from Utah  disagreed…4mos4MO

If the foreigners are living in the U.S full time then they should be allowed to vote but if they're planning on moving out of the U.S any time soon then they shouldn't be able to vote on a president who won't even impact them at all.

 @B8TFMC3 from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

If there is no follow through with the process laid out on how to get to citizenship, why follow the process at all?

 @B8P2XCD from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

That's bad because they could be voting for a person who will only help their country and not AMERICA

 @B8766HW from Utah  disagreed…7mos7MO

They don’t know our customs, so how should they be able to vote on these customs and traditions. But some should still be able to if they secure documentation in certain instances or living here long enough (10 years or however long needed to get citizenship normally).

 @BD8J8TB from Utah  agreed…4wks4W

I think that they should be able to vote because it is kind ainfair for them if there not able to to vote and I feel like everyone that is here should be able to vote.

 @B8WRJH7 from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

If the foreigner is a citizen then let them vote. Foreigners should not have a say on domestic problems.

 @B8WQZFJ  from Utah  disagreed…6mos6MO

Why would you let someone that doesn't live in your country so what happens here doesn't affect them vote for your laws and regulations and leadership?

 @BD9W8XG from Utah  disagreed…4wks4W

if they are not going to be citizens for the whole of those terms they are voting on why should they be able to vote if they are just going to leave

 @B8CGR57 from Utah  disagreed…7mos7MO

Even though I am also a foreigner, voting is right for citizens because this is one of the most important citizen right and until they get their citizenship they shouldn't vote.
