Voting is a unique right that is outlined in the Constitution as given to legal citizens. If a foreigner lives within the United States for a long period of time, then I would encourage them to pursue citizenship, not only so that they can vote, but also so that they can receive the other rights and freedoms of citizenship. Pursuing citizenship demonstrates a seriousness in the system that is equivocal to the right to vote.

 @BDL35KDDemocrat  from New York  disagreed…2wks2W

Foreigners currently residing in the United States should not have the right to vote, because they may have the interests of their home country over those of the United States.

 @BDMGZ5Q from Utah  agreed…2wks2W

I think that some people could have the interests of thier home country in mind in order to help people out that they know there. They might vote for someone soley based on the fact that their going to do someothing for a specific ocuntry.

 @B9JXGP9Democrat  from Washington  disagreed…5mos5MO

Foreigners should only be allowed to vote if they went through the process of becoming a US citizen.

 @B9KB85Ragreed…4mos4MO

No they are not from the united states so they cant vote for a leftist democrat so they can try to stay here

 @B9KB275 from Arizona  agreed…4mos4MO

The act of becoming a citizen doesn't magically transform you into a new person. You still maintain your culture, heritage, beliefs, traditions, ect. Foreigners will more times then not vote to increase immigration even if the native population of a nation says otherwise. Everyone is tribal and, the blank slate doesn't exist.

 @B9K7Q6F from New York  agreed…4mos4MO

Yes. Non citizens do not have what's best for USA in mind. They are not as nationally concerned as citizens

 @BBF97RVDemocrat  from Texas  disagreed…3mos3MO

I believe if you are from another country, but you currently reside in the U.S and are a legal citizen or have a status to live here, you should be able to vote. Everything our government does affects how we live our day-to-day lives. So if it affects you, you should be able to vote instead of depending on others to come through for you.

 @BBFF29X from New York  disagreed…3mos3MO

Everyone should be able to vote, even if they wernt born here but do live here. This land was stolen anyways so everyone is technically foreigners.

 @B87ZRVTDemocrat from California  disagreed…7mos7MO

Usually Foreigners aren't too educated on the US and its current issues and they might vote for someone that they aren't fully educated on.

 @BD6L38TDemocrat from North Carolina  agreed…1mo1MO

Immigrants helped build this place and this land belonged to them before the us can so no one is illegal on stolen land.

 @B979SDBDemocrat from Washington  disagreed…5mos5MO

Non-citizens being able to vote decreases election security and makes it easier for foreign entities to manipulate democratic processes.

 @B8HDKMMDemocrat from California  disagreed…7mos7MO

In the instance that a Foreigner is paying taxes and participating in society in a positive manner, they should be granted the right to vote.

 @B9HWY58Democrat from Minnesota  disagreed…5mos5MO

Foreigners are not considered citizens; therefore, they should not have the same privileges as American citizens.

 @BDLJSVDDemocrat from Michigan  disagreed…2wks2W

Only citizens of the United States are given the right to vote. If an immigrant became a citizen then they would have the right to vote.

 @BDHKBS7Democrat from Pennsylvania  agreed…3wks3W

I believe everyone should be able to vote if they live there no matter where they come from they should be able to have a say so in making the US a better place.

 @BB4BNTKDemocrat from Illinois  agreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners can provide information with another insight or perspective, that could allow the U.S to improve.

 @B8SNB9MDemocrat from Illinois  disagreed…6mos6MO

They shouldn't be able to vote because in the Constitution, it clearly states that only citizens 18 years old and older are allowed to vote. Think about it like if you were to let a stranger in your home and allow them to live with you while not really being sure how to get them out in a way that works for everyone, and on top of this they get the right to vote on family things such trips and get personal information as if they were born into your family. IT makes completely no sense.

 @BD98QBBDemocrat from California  disagreed…4wks4W

Foreigners should not have a say in who we elect because for all we know they might be trying to sabotage our country.

 @BCFJDRTDemocrat from Kentucky  disagreed…2mos2MO

In every country in the world rights are limited to citizens. There is no reason why a non-citizen should be able to vote in an American election.

 @B8HKDWNDemocrat from California  disagreed…7mos7MO

Bro, it says on the constitution all Americans have the right to vote aka citizens, these are illegals tell me why they would vote.

 @B98469HDemocrat from Texas  disagreed…5mos5MO

Only citizens should be allowed to vote for their leaders, they can vote for leaders in the countries they are citizens of

 @B8LRLRKDemocrat from California  agreed…6mos6MO

They live in the country and some may be waiting for a legal citizenship you don’t get it right away..

 @BBV25LCDemocrat from Indiana  agreed…3mos3MO

If you have worked and contributed to this country for more than 5 years you should be able to be given the right to vote.

 @BB6HQWBDemocrat  from Minnesota  disagreed…3mos3MO

No origin here, no investment in our democracy, zero taxes and a lack of understanding in our civic responsibilities.

  @RickyDana  from Missouri  disagreed…7mos7MO

Allowing foreigners to vote undermines the very foundation of representative democracy — the consent of the governed. Voting is not just a civic act; it’s a sovereign right tied to citizenship, allegiance, and accountability. Citizens pledge loyalty to the United States, pay taxes that fund our government, and can be drafted to defend it. Foreign residents, while often contributing members of society, do not bear those same legal and constitutional obligations.

Even at the local level, extending the vote to non-citizens creates confusion about loyalty and jurisdiction. Policies mad…  Read more

According to an article of the University of Virginia it says that more than one-half (24.5 million) of the 46 million immigrants living in the United States are naturalized citizens according to the United States Census Bureau.

 @BDR6GKMDemocratfrom Maine  agreed…5 days5D

The Trump administration has alienated a large number of immigrants, it's important these people retain their right to vote.

 @BD2TG39Democrat from Michigan  agreed…1mo1MO

The amount of illegal citizens are over the top, just because our country is not moving fast enough to make them legal citizens and that facts alone just isn't fair.

 @BCS56Y6Democrat from Washington  agreed…2mos2MO

They are still people and citizens if they are in this country. All citizens should have the right to vote if they wish.

 @BBRR36JDemocrat from California  disagreed…3mos3MO

Foreigners do not have enough info or time in the country to truly know what needs to be changed or stay the same.

 @BBLDR4KDemocrat from New Jersey  agreed…3mos3MO

If everyone has equal rights in the USA, foreigners should also be able to vote just like everyone else.

 @BBHBWVTDemocrat from Virginia  agreed…3mos3MO

Based on 2024 data, white voters take majority percentage with a leader 57.6^ turnout rate, while other minorites such as hispanics (37.9%), black(45.1%), and AAPI (40.2%) . Immigrants are minorities in our society, it is important for all of them to havce a voice because minorities are the ones to face the consequences

 @BB2NFXYDemocrat from Maryland  disagreed…4mos4MO

They aren't citizens, they don't pay taxes so they shouldn't be able to give their input on this country.

 @B9762CRDemocrat from Wisconsin  agreed…5mos5MO

They could be foreigners from a country with no such thing as voting or not allowed too so they could want a better idea of wanting to vote for someone who they believe can help America and give them a better future.

 @B8YBD5LDemocrat from Maryland  agreed…6mos6MO

In the U.S., non‑citizen residents pay over $90 billion in taxes every year (federal, state, and local combined).

They make up over 17% of the workforce in many major metro areas.

In some cities, non‑citizens own 10–20% of small businesses, which generate jobs and local revenue.

 @B8XYZR8Democrat from South Carolina  agreed…6mos6MO

Some countries, like New Zealand and Sweden, allow long-term non-citizen residents to vote in local elections, recognizing their contributions to the community and economy.

 @B8LTJVVDemocrat from West Virginia  agreed…6mos6MO

They make up the largest portion of our work force and pay taxes like a citizen. They have families and jobs and mortgages. They deserve a say in what happens to their homes the same as legal citizens

 @B8XFB72Democrat from California  agreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners can have to work up to years to try and get citizenship, it is a long and difficult process, so If they have lived in America for a long enough time, and they are actively working to get citizenship and papers, then they should be able to vote.

 @9F7Z267Democrat from New Jersey  agreed…3yrs3Y

Foreigners make America work. They undertake all the unwanted jobs.(Farming, Janitor jobs etc.) They do a lot more for this country and are among the most hardworking

 @BBD9LRRDemocrat from Texas  agreed…3mos3MO

Not only That but immigrants are people too the United States should not shut peoples opinions up then try to make them pay taxes.

 @BB64HH2Democrat from Florida  disagreed…3mos3MO

They are not citizens, they have the ability to go back to their country their from if **** hits the fan in the U.S meanwhile were stuck here

 @B9P2D4XDemocrat from Pennsylvania  disagreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners shouldn't be able to have a choice in picking who runs the country they came into after us Americans.

 @B8ZFKSLDemocrat from Kentucky  disagreed…6mos6MO

Foreigners that are not US citizens might vote with their home country's interests as opposed to the interests of US citizens

 @B9FKLJJDemocrat from Virginia  disagreed…5mos5MO

Foreigners should not have the right to vir because they don't know how the government works and all of the requirements

 @BDTG7L3Democrat  from California  disagreed…21hrs21H

If a foreigner has not went through the process of becoming a U.S. citizen why should they be allowed to decide on who governs the U.S.
