If the gun was sold illegally or if no background check was done, the person who sold the gun is completely liable for the damage done with the gun.

 @B7N76Y6 from Virginia  disagreed…9mos9MO

Gun dealers should be held responsible for any shooting that was being used with the sold weapon because they are responsible for checking if the buyers are responsible to hold a weapon. If you sell a weapon you should make sure the buyer is responsible enough to use a weapon.

 @B7MF8GV from California  disagreed…9mos9MO

They should have done a better background check. Making sure who you are selling the gun to is super important. What their background is, who they live with, etc.

 @B7MWHZNPeace and Freedom from Texas  disagreed…9mos9MO

Yes, but at the same time, they still sell the guns without doing enough of a background check or identity check. So they are somewhat still at fault.

 @B7LVK4R from Washington  disagreed…9mos9MO

Everyone involved in the death, the manufacturer, the seller, and the shooter can be liable for gun deaths.

 @B7MZ7Y2Peace and Freedom from Washington D.C.  commented…9mos9MO

The shooter and the seller should go to jail because u sold him that gun without a license then he shot someone with the gun u gave to him

 @B7LTWQ3 from Texas  disagreed…9mos9MO

Yes, I agree we shouldn't sue the manufacturer for a school shooting. However I do not think that is the only case.

 @B7QLCTF from Florida  disagreed…9mos9MO

Proponents of limiting gun industry liability often claim that holding gun makers responsible for criminal acts is like suing Ford for drunk driving accidents. They argue that the criminal who misuses the product is at fault, not the manufacturer.

 @B7LV9H8Peace and Freedom from Texas  disagreed…9mos9MO

Both are at fault; the person who committed gun violence is majority at fault for what they decided to do with said gun, but the person who sold it to the person in the first place should be at fault for being so careless, offering a gun to someone without any background checks and a pledge to garentee they swear they won't do anything with said gun unless its to protect themselves, and if they break that rule, the seller gets to sue and the person would never be allowed to own a gun again.

If the dealer did not do a proper background cheek on their client, then the dealer should be held accountable.

 @B7QSBLY from Missouri  disagreed…9mos9MO

I think the gun law should be changed to the people who are a U.S. citizen or has been in the U.S. for a really long time like 5 to 10 years should be allowed to carry a gun.

 @B7PTZSY from Oregon  disagreed…9mos9MO

i know over 13 teenagers in possesion of a fire arm in my state they sre only 11-18 this is disgusting

 @B7MPLHW from California  disagreed…9mos9MO

I think that the manufacturer can not be labeled as an "innocent party" as they are making a weapon used for killing and therefore hold accountability for when that weapon is used for its designed purpose.

 @B7PRKX6 from Minnesota  disagreed…9mos9MO

I think gun liability should exist but not exist because they could make it seem like it an acctient when it wasn't so I don't know

 @B7PSZ4FRepublican from Washington  agreed…9mos9MO

I agree gun company should only be liable to selling an faulty product, unless they sell it to an illegal, or an mentally ill person.

 @B7NZ9PP from Oregon  agreed…9mos9MO

I absolutely agree, a dangerous design flaw is the fault of the company and they should be held responsible, but in the case of a deliberate shooting, the company should not be held liable for the actions of a murderer.

 @B7MYTYC from Pennsylvania  agreed…9mos9MO

I agree, just minus the tampering part. Once you tamper with it, it's the operator's fault entirely.

 @B7MPF2Y from New York  agreed…9mos9MO

I agree, i am a fan of individual accountability. A gun in a room does nothing without a human operator. We need to focus on Mental health above all else

Sane people don't go out a nd murder people

 @B7MJNPJ from Georgia  agreed…9mos9MO

I completely agree with this stance, it is hard to blame the manufacturer or dealer when they have no clue who they're consumers are at heart but if the issue was truly with the gun itself and no human participation, then yes, the manufacturer or dealer could be blamed.

 @B7PRNZ7Socialist from New York  disagreed…9mos9MO

The dealer should of properly made sure the person buying the gun did not have a record or family members that they are close with dont have a record
