While I don't personally agree with abortion, I also don't believe that it is my place to dictate what someone does with their own body. I'm against abortion due to my own moral and religious beliefs, however not everyone shares those same beliefs and therefore shouldn't be held to them. Regardless of my own beliefs, I could understand why someone would turn to abortion for various reasons including rape, incest, health risk, abuse, etc. I also don't believe that a decision that should be between the person who is pregnant and a healthcare professional should be left to the government, or other citizens, who presumably have very little healthcare knowledge and/or training.

The argument is centered on the belief that this only affects the woman's body. However, the question is, does the baby have rights? Does every human inherently have value and rights? Every baby deserves protecting, I think there should be better ways of taking care of pregnant women and harsher laws / greater protections against atrocities like rape. I, as an adult, do not have the right to kill a child or adult, so pregnant women should not be able to choose to kill their child, either.

Biologically, conception is the start of life. A pre-born baby IS a human person and their life should be protected. No circumstance or situation changes that value of the life. Your right to your body is valid, but you don't have a right to choose that the life of someone else ends, ever. Everyone has the right to liberty, property, and LIFE, and these rights should be protected, especially for the vulnerable (unborn babies).

Abortion is a preventable cause of death for millions of unborn babies. As soon as the egg inside a woman is fertilized, it's a human being. We talk about women having the choice to do whatever they want to their bodies, but what about the baby inside? Does it get to choose if it wants to live or die? And why would anyone want to rid themselves of a child like this when they can just put the baby up for adoption, so someone who actually wants to be a parent can give the child a happy life. Rape is a terrible thing, but it's not the child's fault for what happened. If the child… Read more

A fetus is not part of the woman's body, at conception it has its own DNA and should be considered a human life.

The child can’t live on its own without the mother’s body. Therefore the baby and the mother share the mother’s body while developing. It’s murder to interrupt that process. Sex ed needs to be taught in a way that’s different than it is now. Don’t talk about gay sex or oral sex. Talk about conception and protection. Promote waiting. This will lessen teen pregnancy, accidental pregnancy. Rape and incest pregnancy is a very small percent of the abortion statistic, and shouldn’t be as heavily influenced when determining whether abortion is right or wrong.

Pro-life arguments center on the conviction that human life begins at conception/fertilization, possessing unique DNA and full personhood, making abortion the ending of a human life. Key arguments include the fetus's right to life, the immorality of depriving a future, the ability to feel pain, and the moral duty to protect vulnerable, developing human beings.
Scientific and Biological Reality: At fertilization, a unique set of human DNA is created, establishing a distinct human life with its own gender, eye color, and genetic code.

I think abortion is on the same grounds of murder and that it is worse because it is the murder of a child. Majority of the time, having a child is the consequence of someones actions and they should have to answer for that. I know there are cases in which it was against their control or would harm the mother. However these are slim occurrences and the practice of abortion should majoritivley banned.

Ultimately, it comes down to whether the fetus is indeed a developing human being or not. It undeniably is and should be treated with full human dignity. There are some health risk situations, such as an ectopic pregnancy, where the mother's life ought to be prioritized; however, that is a rare circumstance. I am a committed Catholic, and must stand by what I believe is true and good.
