I'm right; they're wrong. They can cry about it if they want to.

"I'm right they're wrong"

You evidence?

Also we think we are right and you are wrong. And guess what we are both right! It doesn't matter what you believe LGBTQ+ people deserve to have the same rights as everyone else. You can go on a rant about it if you want.

 @B8Q8GPC from Wyoming  agreed…7mos7MO

Regarding LGBTQ+ rights, the Bible affirms the dignity and worth of every human being since we’re all made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). So everyone deserves respect and kindness. That doesn’t mean we have to agree on every belief, but it does mean we should treat each other with love.

And that’s what an uneducated wannabe smart guy would say. If you don’t have the proof to even back up your stance, that’s a scrawny and ignorant take on gay marriage. At least say you’re christian and god made it wrong. Seriously. At least try.

God looks at the heart, not just the outside: 1 Samuel 16:7 says, “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

The founding documents of this country including the Declaration of Independence brought God into politics, have you ever read that document?

 @9TTMQNGCommunist from Minnesota  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I have! And I happen to have read another founding document called the US Constitution, and it has a nifty little part of it called "The First Amendment."

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

If they really wanted to bring God into politics, would they have written that part about "an establishment of religion"?

Separation of Church and State, not God and State.

 @B97542C  from Connecticut  commented…6mos6MO

There is no statement saying "separation of church and state", that is just a shorthand we like to quote. The constitution says we shall not establish religion. Nothing in the constitution can be interpreted to mean we should apply religious beliefs when establishing laws. Instead we should try to establish laws based on empirical evidence that those laws make sense. In this case there is empirical evidence that same sex marriage is just as healthy for all (including children), poses no threat to anyone, therefore we should allow it. If you don't like it you don't actually have to engage in an LGBT "lifestyle", that's up to you... freedom is the overarching principle here.

you can't have one but not the other. God is part of the church so you can't have god in the state but not God.

 @MAGA_Deplorable from Washington  disagreed…2yrs2Y

You and I both know (I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you have a nonzero IQ here) that basing laws on religious values is a far cry from Congress creating a National Church of the United States that all taxpayers are required to send money to. The First Amendment was written to prevent THAT, it was NOT written to make America a Secular Nation, that's for dang sure.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."If they really wanted to bring God into politics, would they have written that part about "an establishment of religion"?

I don't think you understand what that part of the first amendment even means. It doe NOT mean that they wanted us to have a christian nation, or wanted us to bring religion into our government. It in facts means the exact opposite.

"The First Amendment of the United States Constitution states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion".

This clause, known as the Establishment Clause, was written primarily by James Madison.

It reflects the widespread agreement after Independence that there should be no nationally established church."
