Making it harder for skilled immigrants and aspiring citizens to come here just seems like shooting ourselves in the foot—America thrives on diversity and opportunity, not arbitrary barriers.

Targeting H-1B visas and making the citizenship test harder is just going to hurt our economy by keeping out skilled talent and making it harder for people who want to contribute—shouldn’t we be making it easier for smart, driven immigrants to come here, not harder?

Glad to see the administration finally putting American workers first—our tech jobs and opportunities shouldn’t just be handed out to the lowest bidder from overseas. Making the citizenship test tougher is long overdue; becoming an American should actually mean something and not just be a box to check.

It’s about time we put American workers and our national identity first instead of handing out visas and citizenship like candy. Making the citizenship test tougher and limiting H-1Bs is a good step to protect our culture and jobs from being diluted by mass immigration.

Finally, it’s about time we put American workers and real merit first instead of handing out visas and citizenship like candy.

This is yet another example of the Trump administration trying to make it harder for immigrants to come here and succeed. Making the citizenship test more difficult just puts up unnecessary barriers for people who already contribute so much to our communities. The changes to the H-1B system are clearly designed to favor big corporations and wealthy applicants, while shutting out talented workers who might not have the highest salaries. Instead of welcoming skilled immigrants and helping them thrive, this just sends the message that the U.S. is closed off and unwelcoming. We should be making it easier—not harder—for people to become citizens and be part of the American story.

Honestly, I think these changes make a lot of sense. Our immigration system should prioritize people who can contribute the most and truly value becoming citizens, not just those who can game an easy test or win a random lottery. It’s about protecting American jobs and upholding the integrity of what it means to become an American.

I get wanting to make sure the system is fair and brings in skilled workers, but making the citizenship test harder and messing with H-1B visas could end up hurting both immigrants and the U.S. economy if we’re not careful.
