We cannot advance further as a society without understanding and learning about the hardships we've faced. Racism has been a major topic throughout all of American History, especially after the colonizaztion age. If we don't learn history, we will repeat it.

I think students should be taught the full history of their country, including the parts that are uncomfortable. In schools, topics like the Holocaust are taught in depth, and that’s important because it helps people understand the seriousness of hate and what can happen when it’s ignored. In the same way, racism should be talked about openly and honestly in education, not downplayed or treated like it’s overreacting. It’s a major part of American history, and if we don’t understand it, we risk repeating the same mistakes.

Critical race theory is not an important part of our American Dream. How can we move forward together if we teach our children why we are so different? Instead, K-12 should be a place to learn what your calling for your future is, learn about the economy, about the world, about all of the things that someone needs to lead a fulfilled life.
