I 100% agree with this. We cannot let kids be brainwashed into believing things weren't as bad as they were before or be manipulated. It's best to have them learn more history related to race and stuff.

Yes, children need to learn about their country, the bad and the good, to understand why we are what we are today.

I think students should be taught the full history of their country, including the parts that are uncomfortable. In schools, topics like the Holocaust are taught in depth, and that’s important because it helps people understand the seriousness of hate and what can happen when it’s ignored. In the same way, racism should be talked about openly and honestly in education, not downplayed or treated like it’s overreacting. It’s a major part of American history, and if we don’t understand it, we risk repeating the same mistakes.

I also believe racism isn’t somethi…  Read more

Whether or not to agree with a comment on Critical Race Theory (CRT) in K-12 education is a personal decision, as perspectives on this topic vary widely.
Those who oppose CRT in K-12 often argue that it promotes divisiveness by focusing on race, causes students to feel guilt or shame based on their background, or pushes a specific political ideology.
Conversely, those who support including CRT-informed perspectives argue that it provides a more accurate, honest, and comprehensive understanding of American history, helps students identify s

I agree, because kids need to know about the past especially black and other colored kids from different areas need to know what their ancestors went through and how it's still active today.

It is important for the people to know about what their country is built on so it won't repeat over and over.

 @BCB2YP5 from Georgia  disagreed…3mos3MO

The fact that Critical Race Theory is a theory and not a fact implies it should not be taught in school. I don't believe it should be taught to anyone, every people's ancestors have done horrible things. It is similar to White Supremacy, but it's only different because its about a different race.

Critical race theory is about current racism, not history’s racism, and making the think our government is racist would lead to hate against the government and possible bad outcomes

History is important. Therefore, we need our children to understand the good and the bad. We can do this without teaching them to victimize one race when we are now all equal.

 @BC6ZMMF from Michigan  disagreed…3mos3MO

Critical race theory is not an important part of our American Dream. How can we move forward together if we teach our children why we are so different? Instead, K-12 should be a place to learn what your calling for your future is, learn about the economy, about the world, about all of the things that someone needs to lead a fulfilled life.

Children should learn the history of their country. We cannot advance further as a society without understanding and learning about the hardships we've faced. Racism has been a major topic throughout all of American History, especially after the colonizaztion age. If we don't learn history, we will repeat it.

 @BC66G3X from Georgia  agreed…3mos3MO

Although young, it is important for kids to know how to form an opinion. Whether or not it is a "valid" opinion, it should be taught.
