This is an oversimplification of biology and the current state of family planning and medicine in this country. It ignores the restrictions on reliable access to birth control, ignores the biological realities of pregnancy, and ignores the ways in which maternal lives can be put at risk by pregnancy itself and our current approach to pregnancy-related medical care.

 @BBKCZB3 from Alabama  disagreed…4mos4MO

Life does not begin at conception, it begins at birth, and women's healthcare is vital and abortion can save a mother's life.

 @BBLG93Z from Texas  disagreed…4mos4MO

Many women have abortions because they had an unwanted or forced pregnancy. All women decide the right to have an abortion because it is their own body.

They aren't even conscious beings yet. They cannot think at all, they cannot comunicate. A woman should not have to keep a child she doesn't want, as that will lead to mental health problems, abuse, and child endangerment. A woman should also not have to keep a child that she cannot care for, whether financially, physically, or mentally. A woman should not have to keep a child that was created through rape/inscest. It is severely detrimental to the mental and physical health of the mother and the child. And giving the child up for adoption/foster care is not any better. The foster…  Read more

We should always prioritize a human life over a potential human life. People should never have to carry a child they are not prepared for, or otherwise do not want to carry.

Before 21 weeks, the fetus is still a clump of cells. So yes, the woman terminated the potential of life, but did not murder a baby. There are many reasons why someone may need an abortion, such as medical conditions that complicate the pregnancy/ birthing process, and some of these conditions can be fatal to the mother if she goes through with the pregnancy.

 @BBHSTRQ from Ohio  commented…4mos4MO

It's not alive and can not breathe alone if born that prematurely, which would just say that was a miscarriage before the 21 weeks

 @BBFHNTY from Illinois  disagreed…4mos4MO

Fetuses are not conscious meaning they don't understand anything let alone the concept of living. Pro choice is important because there are many factors leading to the abortion of a child such as possible health issues during and after pregnancy to the mother and baby along with financial and mental issues for the family as a whole.

Unborn fetuses and NOT human beings yet. They can not breath, get nutrients, or have any kind of movment without the help of other things I the woom. So how is something murder if murder is take a life but the "baby" wasn't even born yet? You are ALIVE from the moment you are born to the moment you die meaning that if you are not born yet you are not alive yet.

Childbirth can cause physical and emotional trauma to women and is very expensive to both go through the birth and to commit to taking care of the child. In addition, the woman will have to sacrifice over 18 years of her life for the child and that's if she even decides to keep the baby. The life and autonomy of the woman doing the actual birthing should be prioritized over a fetus.

 @BBFJP3D from Missouri  disagreed…4mos4MO

Unborn fetuses are simply not even conscious or alive until around five weeks of pregnancy, when the heartbeat first occurs within the fetus. Yes that fetus would be a person who is alive and functioning if the pregnancy is not terminated, but before a heartbeat, I don't think this should be considered murder.

 @BBFHLY6 from California  disagreed…4mos4MO

Although they may technically be alive after a certain time period has passed, they have not acquired any experiences or "lived." It is more detrimental for the mother to be forced to bring to term an unwanted pregnancy, and will likely result in more suffering for the child they were forced to birth in the long run.

 @BBHXCLB from Texas  disagreed…4mos4MO

In early stages of pregnancy, they are not considered at a basic level of consciousness and what happens to the unborn child should ultimately be up to the mother. If they were born it's a different story and would be obviously considered murder.

 @BBLRHFT from Indiana  disagreed…4mos4MO

No, an unborn fetus isn't even a fully developed human yet. They have no sense of smell, taste, or feel. They have no emotions and can't even have a say in abortions.

 @BBHYRZB from Oregon  disagreed…4mos4MO

The earliest it has been reported for a fetus to live outside the host is 15 weeks. Potential life may have been lost but it is not murder and should not be considered that. The host is someone who is alive and who's life could be greatly impacted by the decision to give birth to the potential life.

 @BBGFV6DPeace and Freedom from California  disagreed…4mos4MO

A Human life does not begin before birth. The termination of that life is a conversation regarding the Womens body.

 @BBFQRQ8No Labels from Virginia  disagreed…4mos4MO

Unborn fetuses are not human, as they do not have the consciousness of a human, and cannot survive outside the womb.

 @BBLLGB6 from Missouri  disagreed…4mos4MO

They do not feel anything, in some cases an IUD can allow for the egg to be fertilized and terminate after, so if abortion is muder than so is being on birth control

 @BBG4CRZWomen’s Equality  from Arizona  disagreed…4mos4MO

Up until a certin point the fetus cant live without the mother, their for it shouldn't be considered a human being.

 @BBGCBN5 from Texas  disagreed…4mos4MO

What makes a human a person is who they become, who they are born to be when they are born. Terminating a fetus that hasn't even become a biological product in the placenta is up to the woman carrying the fetus.

 @BBG5WMJWomen’s Equality from Texas  disagreed…4mos4MO

no it is not murder because it is not human being yet they become a human being when they are outside and breathing oxygen and relying on that oxygen to breathe and live

 @BBHLDKH from Texas  disagreed…4mos4MO

They are not innocent they have no feelings and this is more about the mothers that are going through extreme changes in their lives so it shouldn’t be about the fetus

 @BBGK73T from Florida  disagreed…4mos4MO

Unborn fetuses do not count as a human life until they can live on their own outside the mother's body.

 @BBJ994W from Oregon  disagreed…4mos4MO

I must consider the moment in which life is valid and equal to my own. In that case, I deem that point to be after 12 weeks when the fetus is conscious and able to survive outside the whom.

Engaged Abortion

It's always killing, but not always murder. People usually use murder prescriptively in this context, but I don't think that's always accurate.

 @BBDRVV8 from Tennessee  commented…4mos4MO

simply a living being without guilt or the decision to come into the world

 @BBHWGPK from Georgia  disagreed…4mos4MO

If we allow these (innocent) babies to be born in these bad environments, then they could still or in worst way then they already when have if they were aborted.

 @BBMR5H3Democrat from Louisiana  disagreed…4mos4MO

If this justification was true, politicians would pay mothers while the baby is in utero. Babies in utero are not viable under 30 weeks, which is 7 months and change. Otherwise, the government has no right to tell people how they can use their bodies.

 @BBFHR92 from Florida  disagreed…4mos4MO

No life is better than a **** y life. If the parents aren't able to have and raise the baby appropriately, they shouldn't have it in the first place
