Yes, all Americans should have the right to marry regardless of sexual orientation.

Engaged Gay Marriage

Yes, same-sex marriage should be legal because everyone should have the freedom to marry the person they love. Marriage is about love, commitment, and building a life together. Two people who care for each other should be able to have the same rights

 @9ZRYJK7Democrat from New Jersey  answered…10mos10MO

Yes

People should be allowed to happily be married, regardless of gender identity. Nobody is being hurt by allowing gay and lesbian couples to get married.

The Bible does not say anything about homosexuality being sinful. The actual line is not "man shall not sleep with boy" which says that pedophilia is wrong, not "man shall not sleep with man."

  @solo-von-kickpaw from Utah  commented…10mos10MO

No, marriage should be defined as between a man and woman

Expert Gay Marriage Expert Gender Identity

well yes that's going to seem gross to a straight person... as a lesbian myself I also think its gross but I'm not going to stop gay men from sleeping with men if they want to do that.

 @B5YTX45 from New Jersey  answered…3mos3MO

I technically don’t consider it “marriage” but I don’t really care. Let people do what they want unless they hurt others.

 @B46GR3R from New Jersey  answered…6mos6MO

Yes, I support it because everyone is free to do what they want and if they love each other a lot, there is no reason for people of the same sex not to get tired of it.

 @9YGN3RS from New Jersey  answered…11mos11MO

Take the government and church out of any couple's personal decision. Nobody except themselves should have the right to decide what they want for each other, however, any religious institution should be able to refuse service if they disagree.

 @9N28JQC from New Jersey  answered…1yr1Y

Make the legal classification be civil union for everyone. All government benefits and rights given to "married" people are now given to those in civil union. Leave marriage to churches only. No legal rights attached to marriage only to civil unions.

 @9GNRVFH from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

You can love whoever you want just a long as whatever you do is behind closed doors but marriage is between a man and a woman.

 @9S98TV9 from New Jersey  answered…1yr1Y

Allow all marriage/civil union officiants the right to not perform ceremonies that are against their own beliefs/consciences.

 @9FJT7ZD from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

Federal no marriage is between a man and wife but states should have their owe laws and other states have to respect those law.

 @9DS3NSFAmerican Solidarity from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

Allow same-sex marriage, but don;t let them force their sex upon others

 @95GRCJX from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, and increase funding for programs to educate people on same-sex relationships and promote further acceptance. Increase funding for programs which aim to allow people to take away the mentality that same-sex relationships are against their religions.

 @9444NF2American Solidarity from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

No, marriage should be defined as the union of one man and one woman and there should be no marriage-like unions for same-sex couples

 @9443LD9 from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

A Marriage should only be a religious procedure that is not legally binding. A civil union should take its place and should be available to everyone. The government should not be allowed to dictate the doctrine of religious institutions.

 @8P7LV98 from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

The government never should have been involved in marriage in the first place

 @8NT7292 from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8NGR29T from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

Civil unions are my preference for same sex unions, but I believe they should be afforded the same rights and protections as marriages. Marriage is by definition between one man and one woman and God ordained and created that way.

 @8MF47GK from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

 @8JYR6ZS from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

Government and church should not be involved in this choice between two people. The legalization of two people who love each other shouldn't be a problem anywhere. It should be legalized and remain that way.

 @8JXYXK7 from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but marriage should stay being with human beings: male, female, or trans. No objects, places, animals, ect. Only people.

 @8JFLJD3Green from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

YES! My god what is wrong with you people. Love is love. How f'ing closed-minded and stupid do you have to be to say "It Is AdAm AnD EvE nOt AdAm AnD StEvE,". Like what the heck?! Did you know that quite a lot of animals have homosexual tenancies? Why do you ask? Because it is normalll. Put down the damn bible Debra and learn some science. Fun fact, if two male penguins find an egg by itself they will raise it together! Do you know how cute that is?! I want to be the child of two gay penguins!

It's their life, they chose who they want to marry. Not our duty to tell them who they should marry.

 @8G39KDT from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but without the tax breaks of married filing joint without dependents

 @8D4PQ6N from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes. As long as both people are happy with each other it doesn't matter to me. People should be able to live with who they want as long as the other complies. It's not my decision to make for people to want to marry someone with the same or opposite gender. As long as they're happy with each other I have absolutely no right to interfere.

 @8CMG3KH from New Jersey  answered…5yrs5Y

Yes. Gender and sexuality are protected under the 1st amendment and equal rights amendment

 @9CCRHBF from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

No, and there should be form of government recognition of homosexual unions

 @9BN2G7PLibertarian from New Jersey  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but marriage (whether straight or gay) should be replace by contracts between consenting adults regarding the responsibilities of the care of children and split of their common assets. Religion should not regulate relations between humans in any case.

 @99RVB3Z from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

I don't support it due to my beliefs. However, it is the individual's choice. Churches should also be allowed the right to refuse same-sex ceremonies due to it possibly conflicting with beliefs.

 @99CVK6DRepublican from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

 @995R636 from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

Personally due to religious belief I find it to be unbiblical and therefore I dont think it should happen. But I also think it is the peoples choice on who they marry regardless of their gender therefor I think i should be legal.

 @98TRZ9H from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

 @98S95SZ from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

I believe that if you truly love someone of the same sex it should be allowed no question, but forcing it apon young kids as people do even in school should not be allowed.

 @98QJ6RWRepublican from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

People could do whatever they want but if and when I choose their own path and not being forced to like their same sex in that way.

 @98GN5LM from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

No, marriage should be the only union recognized by the state and it should be legally and culturally defined as the union of one man and one woman

 @989YQK5Democrat from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

 @9886NCN from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

I support it but only with limits because if everybody becomes gay or lesbian how do humans still exist if we don’t make kids

 @97Z5MVDDemocrat from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

I do not care. It is their choice if they want to marry a woman or a man but they will regret it when they die.

 @97YJL47 from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

No, same-sex "marriage" weakens the institution of marriage and undermines the family unit; it must be defined as the union of one man and one woman

 @97VWG4FDemocrat from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

I don't really care, I am Muslim so it goes against my religion, but I don't really mind or care.

 @97PLMGNAmerican Solidarity from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

No, marriage should be legally and culturally defined as the union of one man and one woman, and no form of homosexual civil union or other contract should be recognized

 @97LG4WB from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

I don’t support it but people should be allowed to follow their own beliefs. So it can be legalized.

 @97DHGDM from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes I think this should totally be allowed and that any kind of church shouldn’t refuse to marry people of the same sex. Love is love and we shouldn’t let religion or homophobic people get in the way of that.

 @97CV5JMRepublican from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

No, the person can decide to choose who they love, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

 @97CT3C7 from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

I don't think people should because we need to populate or else our species will die out.

 @97CSXH4 from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

God made you to date girls if you a boy and he made you to date a boy if you a girl.

 @977GKP4 from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

I dont support it but if someone wants to get married to the same sex then thats them I dont really care

 @976PNYL from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

I feel that I would care enough quite frankly but for me, I just doesn't sit right with me but I would support it, I just wouldn't be someone to do it though.

 @974NR4D from New Jersey  answered…3yrs3Y

Remove government from marriage entirely; it is a personal decision, the government should not have a say.
